There is only one real answer to this and it also follows scientific and religious thought to great degree. The purpose of life is to create in order to understand! Life here consists of two basic things, an awarness of self and an exchange of information within oneself and to all things. This exchange of information and the awarness of it, are the exchanges that create life. Everything that is, is being created from positive energy vibrations or else it is not creative, it is destructive. Even these things are not real, but in the illusionary physical world which is a product of the mind. The fact that the world is not really a physical thing, is a scientific fact of physics. Our minds create the illusion of the world as it is. Universally everything that produces in a positive way is about creating. Nothing else really is. The purpose for the Universe being creative is that it keeps on recreating itself in order to understand itself. Their is no other Universal answer! Years of study of both science and spirituality have brought me to this conclusion.

To earn my angel wings.
Each of us has duties that we can either choose to accept, or decline, and good and bad karma to recieve and pay. The meaning of our lives is to learn how to get along and love, freely and unconditionally. To speak of beliefs without ridiclule and have tolerance.
From where I stand, we are a long way from that, and there is much work to be done. It is a sad thing that war is being fought on a mostly religious reason, and that we are recreating that here on such a forum as this. Are we humans denigrating even further into our animal selves, letting anger and judgement get in the way of such discourse as COULD be had? A meeting of the minds where both come away learning something? Or is that too much to ask, for people to look at themselves critically?
There was no specific moment. I think I have always been this way.

The true meaning of life is to procreate and create a better place for future generations to live. Scientifically speaking, an organisims only job is to have healthy offspring and die, right? Well, you could say the true meaning of life is to find happiness. What is the point of living if you are not happy? That being said you can elaborate on your believes and say God is the meaning of life, your children are the meaning of life, even being a political activist or whatever makes you feel happiest.

Well, I am not going to read what everyone else put. But my answer is:

Love, Forgiveness, and Understanding

I am religious...but I think it is not all about God. Think. If we had these things, there would be no terrorism, war, hate, crime, poverty.

If we could just forgive a little more, there would be less divorce.

If we could just love a little more, there would be less violence.

If we could understand a little more, there would be no war.

Forgiveness, I think is definately derived from Love. You have to love humanity to understand why someone does the things they do. You have to understand someone's culture to realize what they are passionate about. If we could all understand eachother. There would not be war. But we don't try. We are selfish and want what we want. If the world's leaders would love his people, there would be happiness in the land.

I could go on and on....But just think about it. If we could love one another like a best friend. If we could forgive one another like we forgive our children. If we could understand one another like we understand ourselves.

This is the meaning of life. And everyday, we have the opportunity to make this happen. To forgive someone. To love someone. To understand someone. If everyone could do that everyday, all the time....just imagine how better our world would be.

I love out of the box questions, so thank you for it. Through my spiritual and philosophical search I have found the only answer that made sense to me , is that we are hear to experience. That is the atleast my meaning of life, to fully embrace life and engage life and experience it. I think alot of people walk around asleep in the world, completely disconnected to themselves and the world around them. We have so many distractions, and bothersome issues. The world (society) makes the distractions and issues seem so important. Example big houses, new cars, working 100 hrs a week trying to get to the top of the food chain. I don't think anyone who is lost in a sea of materialism can be fully engaged in life. My position might change on this after a while, for I think change is one of the few constants in the universe. The only thing I know for sure is that I am experiencing being "here". I am experiencing writing this to you. I am 100 percent certain of anything else outside of myself. But, I do know I am experiencing something, so for me that is what is real. Great question. Good luck to you.

The meaning of life is Discovery and adventure. I believe the way I do based upon personal experiences of events that are real rather than imagined or fabricated. Experiences that cannot be attributed to any other source than the spiritual realm. I am a Christian by choice and have reason to believe the way I do.

Tthe true meaning of life: revolves around the day I became a Christian in my teen age years.
My parents always being active in church, having the Bible read after our evening meals with a closing prayer, Saying grace before each meal is indeed the way I was raised. Having family unity outside playing badminton and croquet into the night 10:00p.m. On those evening my Dad cooked out on the grill. also.
Also watching my Mom cook southern fried chicken to take to a church members home when their was a death in the family. . Visiting people when they were sick, in the hospital they would do faithfully. From all this and the Sunday surmons the Lord touched my heart and called me to dedicate my life to him and I did.
The truths are to Love not to hate, to give not to take,
be honest without dishonesty, and to love without restrictions. This is the good life. Thank You Lord, you were right.

Life is a journey not a competition as some others think. On a journey one explores, experiences and obtains knowledge. With knowledge one can contribute and create. So the meaning of life is "create, to leave it a better place than when you found it".

Respect the earth and its deities.

I look at it this way, when you say what is the true meaning of life, basically it is saying why was Adam created? Adam was created for one purpose only to have a personal relationship with God. Therefore, the true meaning of life is to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, because it is only Him that can go to the Father(God).

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness;
and all these things shall be added unto you." --Matthew 6:33

The question has been around for a long time and is still just as vague as it ever was. Life is energy creating energy. The question should be "what is the purpose of life?" not the meaning.
