I totally agree- you get more for your money with the crap. The wellfair "card" gives you a larger discount on carbs too.
Go figure.

If the government helps our schools out with the basics, more raw healthy as the only choice, no sodas or higher sugers, and two meals breakfast and lunch and portable snack- they would establish the correct way to eat.

I wish that our great nation would help its own. Katrina opened our eyes, to the serious epidemice of starvation and poverty and its direct realtion to wellness. I wish the nation would see that the hurricane saved most ot them from the cycle of poverty.

Why is this confusing? There's a reason why the there is a an "epidemic" of obesity and the cheap foods have very little nutritional value and/or toxic. People buy for taste and they have learned how to maximize that (including using appetite increasing chemicals). Humans were designed to eat real foods. Real foods take more care and are thus more expensive. Plus just by volume, the corrupted foods are most common and that also drives down cost.

I think it's got to do with white bread containing that many preservatives that it lasts longer and also bcause it's cheaper overall to make - they can just use masking agents etc. Whereas the organic stuff is more exclusive. Also, you need to rememer that organic is a trend at the moment so being as such it's more expensive as it's considered a fashion statement.

It really makes you wonder why the government aren't subsidising the cost of healthier foods in order to make them more affordable for those who are financially strained.

That is not surprising or new --its definitely more expensive to eat healthy! No question! Think about cheap blobs of hamburger meat in the grocery and compare the cost to fresh seafood, for example.

it's called "shull bit". (Rearrange the letters). Society has a knack of benefiting financially on our necessities. Example, Gas prices are outrageous but Exxon Mobile is reporting record profits. It's all bull.
