Sorry, can't help you here. I normally take my liquors straight.
You can try gin with sparkling mineral water. Quite refreshing.

It's not that you wont bloat as much, but your hang over wont be as extreme. You're keeping yourself more hydrated that you would with soft drinks/juice. Alcohol basically sucks up the water in your body, causing you to dehydrate.
I don't drink, but I would suggest you do this, if you plan on drinking. It's safer too.

Mixing alcohol with water or club soda won't give you the hang over like the sweets from coke and juices do if you drink too much.

A popular drink is Scotch and water. If the liquor has flavor, it can be mixed with water. Sweet mixed drinks will slow down alcohol absorption and it take a larger quantity to get you intoxicated. They are also self-limiting: you are likely to get sick before you get drunk.

Actually water can open up the flavor of the alcohol
i.e. whisky and water or scotch and water
and people don't do it to thin out or for health reasons
alcoholic proof doesn't change do to the mixer

A lot of people I know, including myself, drink vodka with water & a splash of lemon or lime. It is healthier for you than drinking your vodka with 7-up (& it's the bubbles that often make you bloated). Happy (responsible) drinking!

It f ucks up the taste of the water and cuts the proof of the booze. what's the point? Drink in shots and wash down with beer.

Top shelf vodka and water, splash of lime. Goes down just like water, very dangerous.
