You seem to know what the problem is and know that most folks will tell you to get an interest or hobby to help occupy your time. It's basically good advice. Don't sit around waiting to be entertained.
You are old enough to help round the house with chores and stuff, which your family would appreciate, I'm sure. You could try redecorating your room or something creative if you're not into sports but there are plenty of gentle sports you could try too.
Always remember, people who get bored easily (and won't shut up about it either) are boring people to be with. You need to have something interesting to talk about with your friends, like your hobbies and interests, before they drift away to people with some motivation and personality.

I think in the medical field what you are experiencing is known as teen angst. I was getting a little anxious just reading your question. Try doing some strenuous excercise a few times a week. It is healthy and would help you to relieve yourself of some of that excess energy you have. I think you would feel a lot better and be able to think more clearly once you are more relaxed. Or if that fails you could always go with your idea and run away. Sometimes it is best to learn the hard way.

I would think getting a boyfriend cause you are bored is a bad idea. Enough said. Look again at the sports angle. No one is good at sports without lots of practice and besides how about doing sports for fun or getting a game together and "unboring" some other people? You could donate some time, volunteer - library, day care, old folks home, scouts, hospital, fire and rescue, radio station. The list is endless.
I wish Ihad enough time to be bored!

If you're that bored, try doing something to make some extra money. You could baby-sit, walk dogs, clean houses, etc. Check with your neighbors and see if they need any help. Post a bulletin at your church or community center. Then you'll have something to do and make some money! Think of something you want...and save for that. Maybe start a car fund, or college fund, or re-decorate your room. Or maybe just buy a cute pair of expensive shoes! You'll also have a start to a resume, and show your parents that you have initiative and take responsibility. Or think of something that you might like to do...start a photo journal or learn how to cook. Other things to do...exercise, look for recipies (or make up your own), offer to cook the family dinner, write a journal, etc. Sometimes when I'm reallllly bored I go through my closet and try to come up with new combinations for cool outfits. These are some of the things I've done to keep my sanity! Good luck!

Hi ITILC,
Yup, we've all been there.
I´ll share with you how I solved
the problem, with my parent help!!!
On a low budget, and with great imagination,
they suggested more than redecorating my room,
to create a space that I would enjoy doing all the
things I wanted to do -- surroundings are very
important for some people, and if that is off-key,
so will you. So create a space that you will
love coming home to, bring your friends to, and
if you are responsible enough, get a girl's best friend
a puppy - get one that can share your bedroom with
you, teach her well from the get go, and your life
has no where to go but up.

Are you sure you are not depressed? At your age life is so hard. I mean, all the hormones raging Thur your body, how can you be sure about anything. Please find an older person, not like old old, just a couple of years older and talk to them, if you can't talk to your parents, most teens can't. Please talk to someone and you will feel better. I did feel like you at your age and I was depressed. Lucky for me my school had a peer program. Maybe there is a place like that for you. You will feel better as time moves on. And this too shall pass. Good luck to you!!

Is This Normal???????? It is normal for teens to get bored, but you don't have to be. You have a mine use it to create something that is exciting to you. Find some friends to hang out with. It's not life that's boring, it's the way you look at life.
