I've seen two of my cats give birth. One gave birth right on my bed!!!! I have to say it is the most amazing thing to watch since it's the miracle of life.

One of my cats litters was also on my bed, her other was on my sons bed. I am glad that she chose to wake me because she needed help with the last litter and would have died had we not been able to help her. Unfortunately the baby did not survive.
My children were also there to witness these miracles and it helped to answer a lot of questions.

I am 45. But I still remember the time when I was about 13 and I saw my cat give birth to her kittens. I was touched at such a deep level that I can still picture the whole thing perfectly in my brain as if it were seared there. Unfortunately I think people searching for the intenseness of this experience, results in the births of many unwanted pets. People, despite the intensity of the experience, need to think of the pets and the results, before the experience. I'm sorry I didn't mean to preach. But I think animals deserve a good life and more respect than humans normally afford them.

Over the years, many cats, many births. The first one really freaked me out. I've gotten so used to it now, I feel like a kitty midwife. The first time cats really act confused. I usually end up cutting their umbilical cords for them. Petting them and telling them everything was alright.

It is truly amazing watching them though I must agree. I love watching kittens being born and how quick natural instinct takes over for Mom to take care of her babies.

I've had many give birth on my bed. The strangest one was one of mine came to bed with me, in July, and wanted underneath the sheet. I thought she was acting weird, but she's a pregnant cat so what else is new? The next thing I knew it felt wet under the sheet. I pulled the sheet off and she was having babies right between my legs. That was kinda gross.

I also had one come to bed with me and I guess you would say she was having a miscarriage. She had two babies right beside me that were born alive, but they were so tiny and extremely premature. There was nothing we could do for them. That was a terrible experience.

Most of my cats have come to me when they are ready to have kittens and I have always been there to help them. All my cats are spayed and neutered now and I really miss the kitten birthing experience.

I ahve seen this I don't know how many times! It is soooo cool! I remember the first time I saw my first cat Taboo giving birth to her 3 kittens. I was only like 4 years old. She gave birth on my dad's stomach while he was asleep. I have also had to help mommy's give birth before..not just cats ....dogs too. Sometimes they wont bite their ambilicle cord...so I would have to cut it or I would have to take them out of the sack because they didn't know what to do...most of the time it was their first litters.

I watched helped out with one cat with two different litters, two dogs, watched a pig and a couple cows give birth. Everytime it is amazing. Whether the out come is good or bad. some pups were still born, a pigglet got laid on, and I watched a cat who was to young to have kittens die in kitten birth.:(

I've seen way too many give birth at the animal shelter. Too bad they all didn't find homes. Besides, people can just go and get them on the streets for free! How dare we try to charge money for them!

Spay you cat now before more are born!

Not a cat, but my chinchilla gave birth two days ago to a kit of 4

I caught her with two just born, and later on she had four all healthy and kicking.
