You know you would have to reduce the other ingredients right? Well thats just a reminder. So for every 2 cups of sugar there is 3 ounces of marshmellow. So if you only have 7 ounces do 4 1/2 cups of sugar. That would be the best. Good luck on what your making! Sounds good! Oh and 2/3 as a ratio meaning for every 2 cups of sugar there is 3 cups of marshmellow so put that into 7 and it comes out 4 and a 1/2 times. So 4 1/2. Positive!! ANd finaly someone answered with the same answer as me. 4 1/2 cups is right!! Not 4 2/3!

using linear relationship between the 12ounces and 8cups: 12/8=1.5
In another words relationship with ounces and cups is 1.5
So if you have 7 ounces, you will need 4.6cups. To check that the relationship is correct 7/4.6=1.5.
But it is difficult to get 4.6cups, can use 4.5cups
Wish you a happy time in the kitchen.

7 divided by 12 = .583 or 9/16 so proportionally
.583 or 9/16 of 8 = 4.66 or 4 and 2/3 cups of sugar
(.583 x 8 = 4.66 )

You would need 4 and 2/3 cups of sugar.
Or you would need to run to the store for more marshmallow.
