I think a lot of it is bunk ... BUT...I do drink Goats milk myself.
Goat's Milk is a Rich Source of the Trace Mineral Selenium
The trace mineral selenium, which is often deficient in the human body, is necessary for its immune modulation and antioxidant properties. It helps control the human immune system and works directly on viruses by preventing reproduction.
Goat's milk contains the highest source of selenium of any milk (2.5 time more than powdered infant formulas, 35% more than pasteurized cow milk, and more than human breast milk).
As far as it being unhealthy.....What isn't nowadays.
"Recent Studies have concluded that saliva causes stomach cancer.....but only when swallowed in small portions over long periods of time." - George Carlin

Humans dont need cows milk. This is true! More and more doctors agree with it. Yes, it provides an easy way to get protein and calcium but it's meant for baby cows!
Milk is also all sugar ( a simple carb) so it does the same bad thing a peice of candy will do to blood sugar which in turn is a HUGE no-no for people watching their weight and those that want to be healthy.
As stated, non-organic milk is loaded with horrible things. I do admit I buy milk though but use it very sparingly. I buy organic, grass fed cows milk from a small company that pasture the cows all day.

You cover a lot of ground with your question. The only real problem I know about with milk is if an individual is lactose intolerant. For some, milk can be like drinking poison. Others have only moderate reaction. I know I hated milk when I was growing up and have now decided that I have some lactose intolerance. (I used to "accidentally" knock my glass over at the dinner table. Really ticked my dad off.)
Other than this I think the one thing in milk that they are finding to be detriment is Vitamin D enriched milk, where milk contains added Vitamin D. An overabundance of D Vitamin in the body, studies maintain, can cause problems, just what I don't recall. Of course the studies were on rats, what else.
There has always been a hazard of drinking raw milk, ie. unpasteurized milk. Here, I think, the issue is with bacteria. My mother drank milk growing up right from the barnyard cow. Funny, she didn't like milk either, but kept giving it to me until I finally refused to drink it in my late teens.

Some don't . Children that are breast fed were found to be more immune to sickness because the breast milk has anitbodies in it to help develop the child's immune system. However, I don't eat dairy, as it is not a right products for my blood type. There are certain foods I should not eat as my blood type is pre-disposed to certain stomach problems. So I don't know about the studies exaclty, but I have heard that cow's milk isn't good for you...but it seems they are always picking something new that isn't good for us. They should do some research on it though.

Well there is also the issue of Bovine Growth Hormone that is given to the cows and this gets passed along in the milk and we drink it. Not to mention all the antibiotics that they are giving the cows. You should look this up by searching the internet about factory farming..it's pretty sick how our food supply is being manipulated!!! They even want to spray our meat with bacteria eating viruses so they can have meat on sale for a longer period of time with out us getting sick. What a mess and then we all wonder why we are sick!!!!

I know people that are in there fifty's and have drank almost a gallon of milk everyday.
His father was a milkman.
I could drink a half gallon every day and have no major health problems and the last time I had any major visit to a doctor was when I was 8 and had my tonsils out.
If it was so bad why would aliens be abducting our livestock

I really think that if we worried about all of the "new" discoveries that the mysterious "they" find, that is bad for you, we would end up standing in one spot for the rest of our lives, not eating or drinking anything, and not moving. Then again, maybe standing forever is bad for you too VBG
Some peple DO have an intolerance to cows milk and there are alternatives, but people have grown up healthy and well, after drinking cows milk all of their lives.........
If you like it, drink it,
If you are worried about cancer, stop breathing the air around you, and eating processed food full of chemicals, bigger risk there I would imagine.......

It's not the milk itself, it's all the crap they give to the cows and add to the milk. I finally moved to only organic milk that I know is free of any growth hormones. Not all organic milk is safe - I have a website bookmarked at work that rates all of the organic milks out there. If you're interested, email me and I can send you the URL on Monday.

I heard the reason cows milk is causing cancer is because of the growth hormone they put in the cows feed it's also the reason children are reaching puberty so soon now.
