Heehee. I love reading all the answers that say, "Follow my religion! It's the only one that's right!". It's very amusing. Look, the internet isn't the place to ask what religion you should follow. Don't listen to other people, listen to yourself. If Islam appeals to you, go ahead. If Christianity seems nice, knock yourself out! Other people will always ALWAYS want you to follow their religion. Study different religions, and a lot of them, before you make an informed decision. **Only go to sites that are made by the followers of the particular religion you are researching, otherwise you may end up with misinformed people with the wrong information!** Like for example, Judaism. Many people disapprove of Judaism for some strange reason, so they will bash it as much as they can. Not only Judaism, but pretty much everyone. I would recommend http://beliefnet.com and http://www.religioustolerance.com to get your info. They only display the real facts, and both sites are very well informed. Here is a list of religions in alphabetical order you can look up.

Atheism
Agnostic
Baha`ism
Buddhism
Christianity
Druidism
Evangelism
Earth-Based
Faerie Wicca
Hinduism
Islam
Judaism
Kabalah (I think I spelled that correctly)
LDS (Mormonism)
Mysticism
Neo-Paganism
Paganism
Satanism (nothing to do with Satan, surprisingly)
Universalism
Wicca/Witchcraft (NOT Satanic!!!)
Zoroastrianism

Hope I helped. Blessed Be your Path!

The important question here is to you. Do you just want a new religion that satisfies what your desires are ? OR Are you looking for the truth.

If you want a religion that cares for your desires then why chose a religion just live like you want to live.

If you want the truth then you'll have to look for it. The first step is to Ask God for the Truth and the Right path. Ask for it from the deepest of your heart soul and mind you will definately be answered. It might take some time but God will surely guide you. That doesn't mean you ask and wait. God might want to see if you are really willing to find the truth. So go out there and you'll find it.

I can tell you about Islam and you are welcome to ask more if you want to. The book of guidance is Quran. The Quran was revealed by Allah (God) some 1400 years ago however it contains scientific statements that have only been proven in this century. Islam is a religion of family values and social life. In Islam Men and Women have equal rights. For more information go to websites like http://harunyahya.com and you can find some more good ones in search.

Try searching your Bible fist. Not a Catholic Bible but a King James maybe. Pray and ask Jesus for guidance. Seek a full gospel church. I find Baptist and Pentecostal churchs to be good teaching churches of the gospel. But beware of fundamental churches. Anything that adds to the words Baptist or Pentecostal. Really, talk with other Christians, Pray and try out some churches. Its not about the religion so much, its about a personal walk with Jesus. Its about asking him into your life and being your Savior. Its about allowing him into your life and seeking his will and walking with him.

If you can find a radio station called Klove on your FM radio, its a great Christian station and they take prayer requests.

Many Catholics turn away because they see the flaws and hypocrisy of Catholicism. Unfortunately they often leave all of Christianity. Why don't you consider a church that worships according to what they bible says instead of what a Pope says? I attend a Church of Christ. Each congregation is independent of other congregations, although we do work cooperatively on certain projects. The head of our church is Christ not the pope. We consider every member of our church a minister. Some are just on staff. We encourage people to study the bible daily.
If you would like help finding one email me. I will also be happy to assist you with finding a study course.

Why is it so hard for Catholics to make the jump to rationality. Try having an original thought, there are no such things as gods. In as much as I was not around to see how everything came into being (and neither were you),I say, "I don't know ..... YET!" To assume that some god, my less than intellectual ancestors made up, instantaneously farted the universe into being, is absurd

Well first of all; go to these sites; it will help you get a deeper understanding from other religions.

Next you want to follow Jesus and his example(Col.2:6; 1Pet.2:21).

Most people don't understand that (Matt.2:2)Jesus is/was a Jew. Now don't Jews keep Saturday holy or Sunday? (John 4:22-24)
Jews definately keep Saturday as the Sabbath.
{Look up Sabbath in dictionaries, encyclopedias; even calendars tell us the seventh day is Saturday!} Even the Catholic Church says the Sabbath is Saturday from their own writings.

ROM.1:25 = "WHO CHANGED THE TRUTH OF GOD INTO A LIE, AND WORSHIPPED AND SERVED THE CREATURE MORE THAN THE CREATOR, WHO IS BLESSED FOR EVER. AMEN."

Evidence: (Catholics know when the seventh day is)
"1. Is Saturday the 7th day occording to the Bible & the 10 Commandments.
"I answer yes.
"2. Is Sunday the first day of the week & did the Church change the 7th day--Saturday---for Sunday, the 1st. day:
"I answer yes.
"3. Did Christ change the day
"I anser no! Faithfully yours,
"J. Card. Gibbons"
--Gibbon's Autograph letter.
"Ques.--Which is the Sabbath day?
"Ans.--Saturday is the Sabbath day.
"Ques.--Why do we observe Sunday instead of Saturday?
"Ans.--We observe Sunday instead of Saturday because the Catholic Church transferred the solemnity from Saturday to Sunday."--Peter Geiermann, The Convert's Catechism of Catholic Doctrine (1946 ed.), p.50. Geiermann received the "apostolic blessing" of Pope Pius x on his labors, Jan.25,1910.
Bible Readings pg.194.

(Dan.7:25 tells us "he will think to change laws and times")

"Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act...And the act is a Mark of her ecclesiastical authority in religious things." ---H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons.

Thirdly: you should be asking (James 1:5)God to guide you into his truth. Do not (Rom.10:3;12:16) lean unto your own interpetation or conceits; let God's (2Pet.1:19-21)spirit tell you what is truth and what is error(Heb.5:14). Also we supposed to (Eph.5:10; 1Thess.5:21)"prove all things and hold fast which is good." If you do these things; I think you would be successful in your goal. We have to (Rom.12:2)renew our minds into his.

You might explain why. I am Catholic because it's traditions and beliefs are the true way of life. I personally would never change or convert to any other religion because I believe that being Catholic is the true faith. Most of the time people judged this faith because they are uneducated and don't agree with the bible because it is so strait forward. If you have questions about the faith maybe I could answer some. Contact me if you are interested in a little knowledge about Catholicism.

Try reading the Qur'an. Unless you care about what people think, because these days some might call you a terrorist for being a Muslim.

"God is the Eternal, the Uncaused Cause of All Being.
He begets not, and neither is He begotten
and there is nothing that could be compared with Him."

GOD IS ONE.

Before you jump into a new religion. Seek God, for which comes all understanding. I am saying this because you must be sure deep down that you are willing to write off Catholicism. People jump into religion before having Relationship with Christ/God whoever you pray to. Relationship is very important. Take some time for yourself, read some scriptures, and pray. Put God first, and then make a final decision as to what needs to happen. This is your spirituality here, so this is important.
