Straight out of the udders in a non-raw farm or factory cow? Yes. Sorry. It definitely has pus in it.
No matter how many millions the advertising campaigns pay to brainless twit celebrities pimping milk to rabid fans and brainless twit consumers aka sheep— pus does not "do a body good".
Neither does it do a baby good. The milk of a very large animal designed to make a baby cow grow into a full-sized cow very quickly was not meant to be consumed en massé by humans. And we wonder why we have a weight problem in this country??
Sadly, in cows that are treated with BGH aka Bovine Growth Hormone (which means most of the milk in stores unless you shop at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Wild Oats or Alta Dena), the rate is higher than the allowable national limit— which is pretty damn high already for those of us who don't like the idea of drinking (ew) pus. Yeah, okay ... So they heat it. Is heated pus supposed to taste better, or be more nutritional or something?? I still say, "ew".
Having actually milked cows myself once-upon-a-time, I can also tell you there is hair, dirt from the udders, and other lovely things (like blood) you probably don't really want to know about in your milk ...
Almost makes rice milk, almond milk, soy milk, and oat milk sound tasty, doesn't it?

Yes. Watch the movie "The Corporation". It has an entire segment of the movie devoted to that issue. Pretty gross ****. I started drinking hormone free milk after that. It is the artificial hormones that make the cows get infected.

Milk is a completely safe food. under USDA regulations sick cows are not allowed to bee machine milked-
the milk is strained and PASTEURIZED to kill germs; pasteurization kills all germs.
milk can be high in fat but it provides all the nutrients necessary for growth...

What I heard was that sometimes the udders bleed and/or get blisters and sores....and that is the milk that is turned into chocolate milk.
