I know it sounds silly, but when it comes to food, my food 'lexicon' isn't the largest in the world, due to I grow up not liking to eat different kinds of food, mainly vegetables, beans, etc.

I was wondering if there was a way I could try to get myself into liking these foods OTHER THAN eating them more often?

put veggies in your other foods like i put squash, mushrooms, onions, olives in my spegetti so it tastes good with the red sauce. On broccoli I put cheese and butter on it tastes really good. basiclly cheese on everything is good. Its an Italian thing! But it always tricks my kids into eating veggies.

Foods are an acquired taste.
You should start with a few bites at a time, don't force yourself to eat the whole serving.
The next time a little more and before you know it you might come to liking it also try to eat it with something that you really like that helps also

Just start eating different foods and think positive. I am from a hispanic culture but I love Indian food (Aloo Matar Tomatar), jamaican (beef patties), british (cornish pastry), italian food and a lot more. The only reason i like them is because i was willing to try different foods with a positive mind.

Sure, maybe try eating them in a more acceptable format. Maybe cut sweet potatoes or carrots, or even parsnips into french fry shaped strips and bake them until there a lot like french fries.

Also, check your area to see if you have a tapas restaurant - they serve mini size portions (usually at mini size prices) and you can try a bite of stuff you normally wouldn't buy a whole meal of, or buy all the ingredients to make. My first time trying duck and fois gras was at a tapas restaurant - now I love both!

I don't like a lot of foods either, but if I really want to learn to eat something, I just try to fix it in different ways or eat it a lot to sort of "train" myself. Hope it helps.
