Some milk with a dash of rum just before you go to sleep will make you nice and woozy. Or if you are not a fan of milk or rum, have a bath at body temperature 30 minutes before you go to sleep. According to scientists it helps your body relax just right for going to sleep. If you don't have a bath, buy a relaxing room perfume or aroma therapy product, preferably with lavender in it. I f you don't like smelly rooms, try to count sheep. If you've tried this, try a relaxing cd with sounds of nature, like thunderstorms or waves. If you can't sleep with sound around you, try sleeping on the other side of the bed, sleeping at the feet side or move your bed slightly to the right or left. Sometimes the flowing energy of the earth or just of the house electrical can bother you. If none of this work, see a doctor. He will likely give you a light sleeping pill that should hopefully work. If this doesn't work he will try and help you to find why you are having problems falling asleep and give you the right treatment. Good luck

I've always had trouble falling asleep. The ONLY thing that helps me is to turn on my TV to a channel with NO commercials (HBO or Boomerang, etc.) and turn the volume down so I can just barely hear it...then I make myself comfortable and close my eyes and listen to the TV. I also set the TV timer to turn the set off in 2 hours. I am able to fall asleep within half an hour or so, usually. Before I found this remedy, I'd lie awake for hours trying to "turn my brain off".
The reason I choose channels with no commercials is that the commercials are sudden, loud noises that jar me back to wakefulness.
Good luck to you. I feel for you.

Read something really boring, like some homework or something to that extent. You'll be out before you leave the first page!

You can also drink warm milk. Studies say that there's a chemical or hormone in it called trytophan; that'll put you to sleep as well.

Or you could just take Tylenol PM.

the best way to make you fall asleep is (if you're a tea drinker) to warm up a cup of nice cinnamon/chamomile with honey tea. If not then i suggest closing your eyes for two minutes and then opening them for two...do this process over and over again...your eyes tire much easier than your mind.

Have torrid and steamy sex for 1/2 an hour before bed, then drop in exhaustion after climax.

Read a book that excites you. I remember when I read the DaVinci Code, I couldn't put it down. I'd read it before bed and I'd start passing out. Weird huh? You'd think a boring book would do that.. but no.. a good book. Try it!

I always relax in bed and mentally go over my day. It makes me feel better about what I accomplished and reminds me of what I still need to do. It also gets all of your thoughts out so they aren't running through your head keeping you awake. I also make sure I stay active all day. Using up the energy that food has provided for you is good way to get a hard sleep.

Without a doubt. Carl Sagan Cosmos. Find it on the science channel I think. That monotone drone will knock anyone out in ten minutes or less, and you might learn something.

Count to six while holding your breath. Let it all go. Close your eyes and count down from thrity. Every time you think of a number that you are counting down from, breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. This develops a sleep breathing pattern that will lull you into "dreamland."

Also, make sure that you are not too cold or too hot, and that your bed is made in a comfortable way.

Another method is to lay on your back w/ your rear against a wall and your legs in the air against the wall. Close your eyes and stay in that position for fifteen minutes. Then when you get into bed, you will feel cozy and relaxed. (It's a form of stress-relieving yoga).

Sweet Dreams!
