If one understands satan's role, does one actually become more powerful than satan because his role is understood? Is satan at our disposal?
If the perception is of him being evil, does that give him power over one that holds this belief?
Can we eliminate evil and substitute it for willingness to understand?

no. to all that you said.....one does not become more powerful than satan because he understands satans role ......satan is a force to stay away from......God is the one who defeats satan...with out God man can do nothing and is powerless to defend oneself fully from satan..... satan is never at our disposal.....it is the other way around...man that does not serve God serves satan...whether they say they do or not....all evil comes from him and when man sins it is because of the work that satan did in the garden of Eden... he is just evil period and that is why Jesus came and died on the cross to set us free from the grasp of satan in our life....when we choose Jesus we are free....

Satan is a "word" that means Liar. There are many Satans. Even the Bible says this.

However, the original Satan, or the "original liar, the father of the lie," is indeed a powerful EVIL agent. You could never have power over a spirit creature, its just not possible, the Bible says the "the Angels were made just a little above man." (Heb. 2:7).

Here in 2 Timorthy 2:26 it says "and they may come back to their proper senses out from the snare of the Devil, seeing that they have been caught alive by him for the will of that one." So here it says THE DEVIL IS AN INDIVIDUAL PERSON!

It doesn't matter if there is one individual called Satan, because
we have millions of evil beings in reality. Many of which are
lost souls, who hang around the earth and bother people.
Satan is a paradox. A way out, someone to blame. But once
we get past that stage. We are responsible for our own actions.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of God plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

I do not understand the question is satan at your disposal ,dont get it may I use him or throw him away?if I understand him is he mine to use or throw away is the best I can interpret this, does having a perception of him as evil give him power over who ever believes in him? I think this is what you are asking
this is part of my issue I have against organized religion and it is a small but significant detail that churches should eliminate and that is the concept that man mande personifications are actively controlling and rewarding and punishing man individually and have power over mans thoughts and action therefore man is powerless and not accountable, he must go to church to be saved rather than save himself. he must confess and ask for forgiveness from a priest, rather than forgive himself. he blames his atrocities and intolerances towards others lifestyles ,and on god but not himself .he did not do it the devil did, he did not do it ,god saved him.man is a powerful ,not helpless not hopeless being .man has great potential and man gives away his power, to a belief or value system which has personified reality down to a dual nature of good and bad ,heaven and hell ,live or die ,this or that, my way or the highway ,and is using unforgivng and emotive thinking ,life is not made of two perspectives ,it is multidimensional and one reality does not eradicate another reality many realities coexist and when one looks at anothers reality, from the outside looking in, the perception is distorted, the world is round, not a two sided coin ,and life is really not all that simple in terms of this narrow thinking, which leads one to hold superstitious and delusional beliefs and assuptions since so much cannot be understood by denying another reality exists for example I am a christian you are muslim you are subhuman,a terrorist going to hell and just evil and smelly and I cant understand why you people want to blow everything up, so I do not acknowledge that you are a real person and I could have been born into your culture or family ,I will not change my shoes instead I dehumanize vilify and stereotype you and have no way of ever understanding you or anything about you, because in my mind ,your culture humanity and reality, just do not exist .so my ignorance level and confusion is that much higher and scarier .but I run back to my church for solace and become selfrighteous and scared or hate you demons, who since you are against jesus are against me ,instead of thinking and investigating for my self, and deciding that this thinking can be applied to me and any unknown. instead of man individually accepting his responsibilty to create compassion in this world starting by having an open heart and mind himself, he denies others dignity by dehumanizing them and then cries the world has no compassion and demands you respect him with the respect you inferior demon will never recieve, selfrighteous hypocrisy all church grown for you, god or devil has nothing to do with it ,because alot of people do not believe in these concepts ,it is ignorance and apathy and yes an open mind and objectivity or willingness to understand goes along way towards not becoming a complicit observer or participant in inhumane acts against humans or treating them without dignity

we must understand that in the bible it says god made good and evil for his purpose.we are all already stronger than Satan but we let his influence in our lives make us doubt and think otherwise.how many time have you let depression or that rude comment or something else get under your skin, and you give in to sin, we as humans naturally go for the negative in stead of seeking god for the positive.the word of god says we are the head and not the tail, that we will bruise him in the head and he us in the heal,God says that we are more than conquers,he also gives us this,he says no weapons formed against you shall prosper, so if Satan had power over us that we could not overcome then these statements from gods word the bible would be false,we cannot eliminate evil, but with god leading our lives we will not be overtaken by it,or lost to it.

Yes, if you commit your soul to God, This gives us power over satan. he is at our disposal if we choose so. he has ONLY the power that God gave him. And yes, evil can be eliminated If ALL have the willingness to understand.

We are made in God's image, we have more power than angels, only when we go to haven, on earth we have more power than Satan. Unless in your mind your perception is Satan has more power, Satan is a negative, negative don't have power over positive. negative is a force that's scary looking that can change into forms spiritually, but has no power unless you create it in your mind, giving it that power. Were made in God's image, we have the power.

You have to remember that evil only exists without the presense of God. Satan is without the presense of God.
Lucifer is the creator of evil.

Ezekiel 28:15 "Lucifer was created perfect in his ways, but iniquity was found within him and it was not put there by God"

You really need to change your diet!!
And the answer to your question is anyone who follows Satan is evil just like he is. He is the great deceiver, and that is all that has happened to those who choose to follow him.
