Yes, it can cause respiratory distress, and in large amounts even lead to death. If you just caught a whiff, and experience nausea, it is a passing thing, but if you continue to remain ill, seek medical attention, as a precautionary measure. Remember that you should NEVER mix detergents with any ammonia based cleaner, as it releases ammonia gas, which can cause burns to your lungs, and suffocate you.

I cleaned the wax off my floor one time using ammonia and I didn't feel too good afterwards, so I guess it could cause that,
and I diluted it in water, but I was breathing it for about 1/2 hour with the windows open.
I won't use that stuff again.
I wouldn't think just smelling it out of the bottle once would would be bad, but it is a chemical, and you might be sensitive to it.
Better open a window and get some fresh air for a little while.

If you sat and sniffed it for a while I would suggest going to the ER. If you were just cleaning your bathroom and got a little nausea from the fumes, just go out and get some air and it will be fine. Your probably gonna be fine befor you finish on the computer. If you get worse, go to the ER because the fumes could have come from the ammonia mixing with another chemical.....but, like I said if your good now, dont worry about it and dont sniff so long next time.

If you mean nauseated and maybe vomiting when you say sick, then yes. If you mean short of breath when you say sick, yes to this as well.

If mixed w/ clorox. If you drink it in small portions, you may vomit. It is not fatal unless you drink a lot.
