Sports aren't going to help you a whole lot here. Genetics and a good solid diet (wholesome foods, plenty of good calories, etc.) and the only things that are going to help you with your height.
I hate to tell you this, but if you're 16 and 5'6 you're probably not going to make it to 6'4. If you're truly serious about this, go talk to your doctor and see what he or she has to say. I know you don't want any unnatural chemicals or anything like that, but if 6'4 is your goal and the doc can prescribe some hormones and can monitor you for a few months, it may be worth it.

I believe it is no longer a lot growing taller - that's your genes (what you inherited from father and mother), and the way well you consume (healthful weight loss program allows for your body to develop to its most suitable height, as dictated by using genes). I consider it is more that swimming makes you arise tall, gives you a straight back, so that you carry your self better and seem taller. Nonetheless, you need to be careful to exercise your chest and your back equally, else you'll be able to appear humorous. And no, as soon as every week for 30 minutes is not going to do very much of some thing, you gotta do it extra more commonly than that. Probably three times per week for an hour. Your highest top, roughly, is your dad's top (if he is the tallest; in any other case mom's) plus a pair inches.

Genes and a health diet are what make you grow tall... The tallest folks in the world right now are Norweigans with an average height for males of 6'. They claim it is from their diet which is high in dairy products. Malnutrition can definitely stunt your growth so eat healthy and regularly.

If your 5' 6" at 16 you'll probably never be 6' 4". If you want to be a little taller try eating healthier. Try to increase your calcium and vitamin c intake.

Sports will not make you grow taller, it's mostly genetics. Wholesome food will help some, milk for example.
