No one is ignoring your wife. If her priority date is not current, then she has to wait. If it is up to you to provide a new affidavit of support, then do it. There are no Indians running any American Embassy. If you speak to our local Indian employees when you call there, it's because they are hired to assist us. If you don't like their answers to your questions, I guarantee that the American consular officer will tell you exactly the same thing.

That's two different questions- First one, someone who is standing still, waiting in one "line" and then the next, doing the right thing and leaving a paper trail a mile long is much easier to find and much easier to "jack up" than someone who isn't standing in line, and isn't doing the right thing.
Second question, it costs less to employ indigenous persons at an embassy, in lower level secured positions than to employ an American over seas at the same level. Unfortunately that brings local politics into the picture, even in an embassy, and someone else must first get around the 'front line' in order to find an American at a Foreign Embassy.

as for your question...
illegals that cross the border do it because they have NO options to immigrate under current immigration laws. To immigrate you must
Have a special needed skill, a college degree, be hired by a company (company needs to prove your skill or degree cannot be found in the country), be transgferred by a multinational corporation to the US (yeah, poor mexican dirt farmers can do that just fine, right?), be the lucky direct family member of a US Citizen (wife, kids, parents, siblings... though siblings take like 20 years), have enough money to invest in a US comapny (again, Mexican dirt farms don't bring enough cash for that), have enough money for retirement and ask to retire to the US, or... if you're lucky enough to be in one of those low immigration countries where, win a visa lottery. Seek assylum with enough proof you're being persecuted/in danger back home, and finally hope that a ruthless regime (especially communist) takes over so you can be given assylum upon arrival (like Nicaraguans, Cubans, and Haitians).
Now tell me, do those people who cross the border everyday meet any of these requirements?
That's why they do it... perhaps if there was a legal immigration option of poor immigrants, then they'd have no reason to cross the border (doesn't mean they won't do it, but you can then condemn them for it). But unfortunately, immigration to the US is only available for the lucky and the rich.

You can have a co-sponsor to help you if your affadavit of support isn't sufficient. My husband got his visa in less than 6 months.
The AMERICAN embassy in Egypt is also ran by egyptians. The reason is because they work for peanuts.

It is really irritating because it is already hard enough to get jobs without all of the illegals takin them.
