Is it normal for a child to loose his first tooth at 5 years old? Isn't he a little young?

no! that's the age when i did, when my brother did, seems perfectly normal and a great age to lose a first tooth! :D

My daughter lost two teeth already, starting a few months after her 5th bday. She is almost 6 now. :) Dentist said it was normal because she got her teeth early (at 4 months she had those two bottom teeth)

She also grew the new ones before the old ones were lost! So I was checking in on it, it's okay!

no its perfectly normal for a five year old to be loosing a tooth.But if he just turned 5 than it is a little early but there is nothing to worry about.

i guess so. I lost my first tooth at that age in the middle of a kindergarten class. it's normal. 5-6 other kids in my class lost one before me. don't worry.

I lost my first tooth at 3 years old. My uncle was a dentist, and we knew this was early, but not impossible.

Could be gum disease or poor diet, but, most children do this normally around 5-7. I have seen a few loose them at less than 5.

Most kids loose them starting at 6 - But my 5 yr old has a loose one also - they say it's OK.

That's when I lost my first tooth, and I turned out normal. At least that's what they tell me...

Nope. I remember when I was in kindergarten, nearly everyone in my class lost their first tooth. I was disappointed because I didn't lose my first one until I was almost six.
