Mononucleosis is supposedly another name for the Epstein Barr Virus.... if this person has antibodies to the virus they may or may not reactivate with kissing of a person already in an infected state..... this virus tends to stay latent in the system after an infection but discrepency arises as to whether or not it can be reactivated..... I believe it can just like the herpes virus the reactivates... and this virus is in the herpes family of viruses.

However couples have been married for years kissing each other... one can be sero positive for the virus and one partner can be negative... so all this means is that the sero positive partner never kissed the partner while having an active infection....

sure if you kiss them. Mono is also known as the dreaded "kissing" disease.
