They still have too much energy. No sugar 3 hours before bed time. And have a bed time ritual: bath, story, getting clothes out for the next day. This will let them start to wind down. Also, when they come home, run them like dogs so that they are tired and ready to go to sleep at bed time. Play games that get them moving. But above all else, let them know that you mean business. if your beat their butts when they don't go to bed, they will learn to stay in there. If you give them idle threats, they will take you for a joke and do what they please.

I don't have a problem, and I am a single mom. YOU need to take control and be the parent. I have them get ready for bed and get up in the morning the same way. We do everything in the same order ALL of the time. That way it is a habbit , They need structure. If they won't go to bed,,,,, put them standing in the corner for awhile. If they refuse, stand behind them and hold them there.

Children need to be in a routine. Bed time is bed time, no excuses. Make it a game, not a punishment. Like who can find the item that makes your teeth shiny. I'll race you to your room. Which story do you want tonight. I'll give you a dream to dream. They will love it and it will be something to look foward to.

I had problems with one child and I told her that she did not have to go to sleep but she had to stay in bed. I let her read books. This worked really good

Fix them a snack in the kitchen. While they're eating, blow out the pilot lights on the stove and turn on the gas. In 5 minutes they'll be drowsy enough to go right to sleep.

You are not making the knots tight enough.
OK sorry. My suggestions were answered already. Routine, no sugar, run them till they drop. I don't suggest beatings. Routine is dicipline.

they usually hyper after dinner and dessert...or you don't show them who is the boss in the house. Usually if you are pretty lenient to them they take advantage of you ... So like what my mom taught me don't be too nice to them and show them who is the boss ...

how did your mother deal with this problem. If she did a good job of dealing with it, then you already know how to deal with it. If she didn't do a good job of dealing with it, then at least you know where the problem came from.
