no but all preachers are of the species of man. which means they all can have good intentions, and at the same time fall in to temptation. which is why we are to follow Christ example not the preachers, preachers are sinful creatures just like the rest of us they are tempted with greed and lust and envy and all the rest, the bible says pick up our torture stake and follow after Christ, not the preacher, they are here to give us understanding and to teach us.and show us how to read the word of god and understand for ourselves so we can teach others. preachers, pastors, Bishop's, evangelist and whoever else in authority in the church has to pray and seek god, they have to repent daily also, one thing i can tell you for sure, any preacher who charges you for one of gods miracles, say blessed water, anointed cloth, prayer robe, healing waters or cloths or any of this non sense is living out side the will of god. tell me were in the bible did Jesus ever sell his miracles sell his wonders, can you here Jesus saying say you to can be healed for just a mere 19.95,payable by cash check or charge, i also accept money orders.be aware that Jesus gives to all people freely and with love. don't be mislead

Not all are con-men. They can be sincere, just as are the congregations they serve. Many don't make a lot of money, as I can attest as a minister's son.
The ones you cite are more into show business. (No one has a more appropriate last name than Jimmy Swaggert.) The ones who pastor churches are less likely to con you, because their jobs depend on the approval of their congregations.

All preachers? Because you see one bad apple in a group you are willing to say Everyone is like that? That is a prejudges you know... My pastor works over 60 hours a week serving the members of our small church. We pay him less than $1,000 a month. Since we are so small we can't offer more though we would like to. He is there for us in our hurts and our joys. He teaches us and leads us in praise of our God. He is a friend in every aspect of our lives. Is he a con man? You apparently don't know what you are talking about...Jim

Religion is the ultimate con. It is government protected, tax free and the product they sell doesn't have to be delivered until you reach a place that doesn't exist. So yes, all preachers are con men.

I believe Jimmy Swaggert got on TV and said he was sorry and asked us to forgive him? Are you perfect? Just because a man falls does not mean he is not true to God we all are human and we all make mistakes that is why you should follow God not man.

i think that any preacher that does it for the money is a con man.
any preacher that ends up getting willing donations from a congregation should use the money to improve the building that he uses to preach form (without going extravagent) or give it to people that need it more.
I am a preacher of sorts, i am a pagan minister, i do not accept any monetary donations for religious services. i accept hospitality
which means that if someone in another state wants me to preform their marriage ceramony, i will allow them to pay for my transportation and lodgeing as a mediocre hotel or provide me a guest room, and food and drink.
if they wish to give me a small gift of appreciation..by small i mean something just to say think you and of little manetary value
i can acept ....as long as that family is better off than i am in a financial state. if they cannot afford to pay my travel i will pay it out of pocket if i can or i will find them a minister that is closer to them that can do the ceramony for little monetary gain.
any man of god that drives a Lxus that is paid for by his church or his cingregation has himself an idol (MONEY)

All preachers are human, so do make mistakes. Do they all try to get your money? No. Do they try to persuade? Yes because they try to teach & preach what the Good Book says & to accept Jesus Christ as your savior. Maybe you should get to know more on a personal level, but don't try to con them either.

I believe some are con men. Some are false teachers, but I don't know if they are aware of it or not.
Certainly not all preachers are con artists or false teachers.

Not necessarily. If they really, really believe in what they are preaching, then no. If they are only doing it as a means of making money, while knowing that what they say is a bunch of B.S., then yes.

Preachers are not perfect, however we strive for perfection. All of us have sinned and fallen short of God's Holiness and Rightousness!
