Everyone doesn't like my answer -- and I don;t think you will either. Why? Because people want karma to be some mystical force, essentially replacing the personal god with this impersonal force or mechanism where one's negative actions and their results need to be worked out in successive life incarnations by good actions and results. This keeps the concept of a soul/self intact. What karma really is: conditioning. It means that my negative actions do have negative effects on myself and people. If I abuse my kids (negative conditioning or karma) then their self esteem will be low and they may fail in relationships, use drugs, be unhappy, etc. (effects of negative 'karma'). If they don't work on the negative patterns in their personality, they may abuse their kids and so on (in this way, we get 'karma' lasting for 'lifetimes' - my negative actions have an effect on my kids and they affect their kids and others around them and so on). Once people become aware of their negative patterns and work on them, thereby healing their wounded selves, they stop the negative cycle (the negative 'karma' has played out). Just ask anyone who has really done a 12-step program and worked on themselves to reduce their ego and uncover negative patterns. Now, to bring in some REAL mysticism - karma completely goes away when the self is experienced as illusory (enlightenment experience). Why? Because all conditioning is conditioning on a psychological self; once that's seen as non-existing, there is nothing the 'karma' affects.

Many people believe that both good and bad karma can return to you at any time, even after this lifetime. Hindus believe that the soul is immortal and is reborn in a new body after a person dies. Thus, you have an endless series of lives to work on your karma. In each life, you should strive to do good works and evolve spiritually so your next life will be better than this one. Hindus seek to eventually break free of the cycle of reincarnation and attain eternal bliss of the soul, called moksha.
A god does not administer the law of karma. There is no cosmic judge who doles out punishments and rewards, although some suggest that there is a "cosmic accountant" who tracks each person's karma. Ultimately, each individual is responsible for his or her own actions and karma

Any crackhead can answer that. They go around "cutting" everybody. Holding back the some of the money, pinching the
bags. And no sooner than they turn around, somebody "cuts"
them.
Seems to me Karma is happening at a faster rate. Because we're getting closer to some major spiritual event. And we don't have to wait till the next life before it comes back on us in some way.
Is Karma God answering prayers? Because people seek revenge? Forgiveness is the key to Salvation my freind.

There is no scientific proof for Karma. I belong to the "church of smart" and our biggest belief is, I will believe it when you can show it to me. People's attitudes and emotions do affect their health. There are myriad medical studies attesting to this. So, I guess people who are often angry are more susceptable to health problems. I guess some might view this as a form of karma.

yes and no. karma only works if you believe in it. its something in you and i dont think theres any proof becuase it only works if you want it to work. ok say you go the store on youre way there you find a $100 bill, you probably think its luck but could it be karma; no one knows, it only works if you believe in karma

Its state of existence is both true and false. It all depends on whether one believes it. If they believe it, then indeed, they shall view particular actions as karma. If they don't, they'll name it something different. It's not the name that counts, but the action, and the base truth. If that's the intended meaning behind the action, then no matter what name you give it, it shall be that intended meaning.
It's FINDING the base meaning that's hard!

No. But Karma and the Golden Rule are based on the same thing...treat people like crap and sooner or later you will be treated like crap.
Truly, what goes around comes around, but not because of some invisible force, but because you bring it upon yourself.
Religion is useless.

It's happened to me several times. Such as I broke this guy's heart for another guy, who ended up breaking my heart. Just from that, I know that Karma exists.
