Well, the issue comes in that calling Mary co-redeemer is not what it appears to be.
It is not saying that she is divine or that she has any power to save us beyond what her Son has granted.
It means that it weas THROUGH Mary's YES to God, that we were redeemed. Jesus didn't really have a choice. once He was here, He HAD to go through with His Passion.
Mary DID have a choice- she could have said no, but she didn't.
That si as simple as I can make it, basically, the issue is with a misunderstanding of what is meant by Mary as Co-Redemptrix.
Hope this helps!

I am a Catholic but I strongly disagree to any movement saying she is a co-redeemer to the sins of the world. There is only One God I will have to serve and join. Mary is just an obedient subject of God to His plan of sending Jesus to save Israel not the world and Jesus acknowledge that when he said he came only for the sins of Israel. How it became saving the world is big question to me. The Testament says one thing the Church says another. The Bible did not say Mary is the spouse of God but the Church say it otherwise. Imagine, the blasphemous claim.
I respect Mother Mary for being the mother of Jesus nothing else.
There are many verses in the Bible that says, He who sins shall be answerable to his own sin. Not his father nor his son shall take the responsiblity. These are all written in the old Testament by the Major Prophets.
Watch out for growing deceptions. I seriously and honestly endorse to you to go to this site. www.thename.ph and beginning Monday there will be great revelations to that. This is not a new religion and it is not asking anyone to change their religion but rather look at all the messages and find where the greatest deceptions are. Wisdom has already been given to many but very few were given the understandings that is why our world is in this state. Again www.thename.ph

The Title of Co-Redemptrix for the Blessed Virgin Mary does not put her on equal par with her Divine Son. Christ Is Still the Redeemer Of the world. Mary would still petition her Son, & the Saints would likewise still petition Him alongside Mary.
The Title of Co-Redmptrix acknowledges that it was due to the fact that Mary gave her consent to become the Mother of the long-awaited Messiah, that He Was Able To Come into the world To Be our Redeemer.

When I read your question, I was excited to read the anwsers . . . but I didn't learn much. Maybe someone else will have more information for you.
I do know that the Church considers us all to be participators in our redemption (we are all co-redemers, so to speak). I'm not clear on this idea (in fact, I was trying to get a grasp on it earlier today), but this seems to be the general idea behind penance, fasting, etc. I don't think the declaration of the dogma would mean we would ask saints to pray to Mary. That would go against what the Church teaches us, and in fact, against what Mary shows us, which is that everything Mary does points to Jesus. He is the most important one, she is secondary. But Mary is our model of perfect humanity (none of us can be like Christ, as He is fully divine, but we can strive to be like Mary, since she is only human, like us.). Hope this helps a little.
