There is such thing as over hydration. 1.5 gallon is a lot, but you probably won't get any lasting problems.
I would find out the recommended amount for your body weight. Keep in mind that if you are an athlete or are doing work that requires more water, you can increase your intake. Hot climates will increase your intake.

I'm not sure how many ounces there are in a gallon. My doctor says to drink 8 glasses of water a day, which I imagine is about 64 ounces. That's just on a sit-around-day. If you are an athlete or work outdoors and sweat a lot I'm not sure how much to consume. I think dehydration can really make you sick. I know with babies, if you take them swimming there is concern about them taking in too much water. If drinking this much water is your routine and you haven't keeled over yet, go for it. I guess you could be washing minerals out of your system. Only your doc knows.

It is possible to drink too much and you would have to most likely need to be hospitalized if you did.
1.5 gallons a day is not unusual if you exercise, are a certain height and weight. If you have an unquenchable thirst, that is another matter that you need to seek medical attention. People who can't get enough water are usually diabetic or may have kidney problems.
But drinking water is healthy, you should have at least 8, 8 oz. glasses per day.

good for you!! For most people, i would say no it isn't possible to drink too much water. Unless you force feed yourself water constantly. Your body has a way of telling you to stop drinking water..its called peeing too much :) I've heard of cases where people's vitamin levels drop slightly because they drink a lot of water but they also had other health issues. People who work out every day should actually drink about as much water as you do. So assuming you are healthy I would say no 1.5 gal. a day isn't too much.

Yes, some college fraternity pledges were made to drink "gallons" of water during a hazing ritual once and they died. I dont think that you could accidently drink to much though.

It actually is possible to drink too much water. You lose very important electrolytes (like sodium) that keep you functioning every day. With that much water, you could be doing your body good, but if you were to take lab tests, you could be damaging your body also.

You CAN drink too much water....I think the disorder is called hyper-hydrosis or something.
But a healthy active adult probably COULDN'T drink the huge quantities to make that happen.
Go ahead and drink up!
