A child the age or 4 or 5 needs between 10 and 12 hours of sleep per day. These hours do not have to be all at one time. If your daughter takes a nap that can be included in the hours of sleep she gets. I would say between 7 and 7:30 is a good time. I put my 7yr old to bed by 8:00 and she leaves for school at 7:15 (she gets up at 6:15).

It really depends on what time she is waking. If you wake her around 6:30 then she should be in bed by 7:00. My daughter is 4 also and she wakes around 7:30 and goes to bed around 8:00, and she falls asleep by like 8:30. Kids this age need about 11 hours sleep at night. It also depends on your daughter though. If she seems sleepy then she definitely needs more sleep. Try to get her into a routine with dinnertime, bathtime, storytime, and bedtime being consistent. That will help her adjust to the early bedtime if she has any trouble with it. And as soon as it starts getting dark early again it will be better too. My daughter never goes to bed at 8:00 during the peak of summer because the sun doesn't set until about 9:00- 9:30. So, usually we let her stay up a little but we also let her sleep in as well, and she does so everyone is happy. With bedtime changes it may take a little while to get adjusted but after a week or two your daughter will probably be in the groove and feeling more rested in the morning. Good luck :)

She should be getting about 10-11 hours of sleep - may sound crazy, but 7 or 7:30 - that gives her a 1/2 hour or so to settle down and get to sleep.

i'd say 7-8pm is best. she'll have at least 11-12 hours of rest. the younger kids are always sleepy when they wake up, because they're not used to it. over the weekend, try not to let her sleep so late, because she needs to get used to sleeping early to wake up early for school. i'd say 9-10pm is max for weekends, she is just a 4 year old. they need their rest :) its normal for them to be sleepy in the morning(early morning that is) it even happens to highschool kids of course and older! so hope this helps and good luck with your child! :)

maybe it's not lack of sleep, maybe it's oversleeping. Do you send her to bed too early? give her 8 hrs. every night and 1 and a half hour of ciesta (afternoon)
