It's a double standard imposed by a male-dominated society.

However, it makes sense: a girl who gets preggers at age 15 is gonna be in more trouble/ have a much worse life than a 15 year old boy who gets a girl pregnant. Yes, in a fair society, the boy would be just as accountable (and stigmatized), but this society ain't fair, honey.

So use protection, kids.

This goes back to social stigma. Men were encouraged to "sow their wild oats" and all that jazz, while women were supposed to be virginal and pure. If they weren't, then were considered sluts. Tradionally, there was no middle ground for women; in academia this is known as the Madonna complex. If young girls showed signs of being horny at 14 and 15, then suddenly they were seen as going down the wrong path. But for boys, well they were just being boys.

Because girls are more mature at that age than boys girls usually know better than to talk about it and obsess over it. This doesnt mean they dont have the same feelings but they are usually more likely to confide in a friend than stand around yelling stuff out in the playground at school. You are intitled to your feelings but you just dont wanna act like an idiot as boys often do at that age.

In our society, male sexuality is more acceptable than female sexuality, in general. It's not fair, but that's the way it is. Girls are supposed to be more in control of their sexuality then guys are, so guys are virtually not accountable for their sexual behavior. Always remember this, as being female, you will be responsible for prevention, no matter what!

Girls tend to mature sooner and at a gradual pace towards puberty...boys tend to be non-puberty one day and a mad dash of puberty comes on overnight and hence the reason they come across as much more "horny". As for "acceptable", it is human nature and also for years its been recognized that the male species "flaunt" their dominance and manliness whereas women are supposed to be the "meeker" of the sexes and hence is why most girls are raised to be ladylike and nondescript. (ever hear the old saying that men marry wholesome girls but date the wild ones? ) Anyhow....all teens at 14-16 are going to get a rush of puberty at some point and it's up to them to conduct themselves in a private and hopefully "solo" manner until they are adults and ready for the responsibility of marriage, sex and children :) Happy teen years!~It's rough....but you will get through it :)

its society. dates back to whenever. it was OK for guys to be horny, and want to get off, because "they just cant help it." or "its in their nature." but women/girls are supposed to be so much more innocent. and we are brought up thinking its a bad thing to explore our own sexuality. i am not by any means promoting teenagers to go out and have sex...but there isnt anything wrong with thinking about it. just remember if you want to, you def. need to talk to an adult and get protection of some kind.

I wasn't aware that that was the case...I don't think it's more or less acceptable, but guys show their horniness more than girls...that's really all there is to it..

Girls are supposed to be "ladies" It works that way when you get older to a girl that sleeps around is a slu* but a guy is just a player. We can just never win!
