if you would like to say thank you to our veterans for free, go to this website http://www.letssaythanks.com ( you might have to copy and paste) after you go, if you send a card, let me know what you think. Do you think this is a good way to say thanks?

sglmom: i fully agree. I work with a state veterans service department and i hear many stories of veterans who have never heard a thank you. Its heartbreaking to hear their stories from war. I believe in supporting all our military people. those who are serving and those who have retired. i make sure i tell each and every vet how honored i am to assist them with their claims to the VA and how much i personally appreciate them for what they have sacraficed for our country. and THANK YOU as well!!!

To put it bluntly, I am a Military Retiree, and over the years of service, there have been many times I've been out and about and no one remembered either myself or those I was serving with -- and this was before the internet became commonplace, and all the new toys and tech we now have.

I can assure you that any servicemember out there is very aware of the things going on in the media, and what they experience in their everyday missions. They need all the boosts they can get, and even a simple 'Thank You' from a member of the public -- for putting their lives on the line every day is appreciated -- and it does not take much.

SO REMEMBER those serving, those who have served, and those who were disrespected and spit upon when they returned to America after their service (especially the VietNam Vets).

Hand out cookies or just everytime you notice a hat or a pin go up and say thank you... believe me it will make them feel awesome... and if you bake cookies, take them to your local area VA hospital and hand them out there.

It's a very good way to send thanks. There are many many other websites that a search would turn up.

Thank you.
