Galations 1:6-10
6 I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. 8 But even if we or an ANGEL from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. 9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
DId u see that angel was in caps? An angel (Moroni) appeared to Joseph Smith with a different gospel.

Good question and explanation. But consider that 1/3 of the angels left their God to follow Satan. They are also able to confuse people.

The Bible does indeed warn us to avoid false gospels, even if a purported angel preaches it. However, that’s hardly all the Bible has to say on the subject. The Bible promises that an angel will bring back to earth the everlasting gospel. Further, Peter preached that Jesus must remain in heaven until there is a wonderful time of “restitution of all things.”
Thus, every Bible-believing Christian should prayerfully investigate the claims of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. That is what I did. I spent much of my free time during and after my sophomore year in college investigating Mormonism and the charges leveled against it. After nearly a year of careful study and sincere prayer, I came to know that the angel which appeared to Joseph Smith was the one promised by John the Revelator. I’ve been an enthusiastic “Mormon” ever since, and have never regretted it!

I'm not a Mormon, but I think that you are putting much too fine an interpretation on this: we can be reasonably certain that the word Angel wasn't capitalized in the original Greek. And, of course, that was written long after the events at issue were supposed to have happened. So, to suppose that the text meant a particular angel rather than just any is quite a stretch. As an atheist, I am delighted to not need to deal with this morass.
