Lift weights and eat minimal sweets and starches. Then do stretching exercises. Take massaging showers and get lots of sleep. And drink lots of fluids. Stay limber. You should look and feel the best you possibly can. Go slow. Persist.

Try ashtanga yoga. It's really challenging. I feel great having done it several days a week for 6 months.
