No fat person has ever reached 100 years old. So that should give you one giant clue right there.

But besides not eating too much, you should make sure that what you DO eat is well-balanced. A simple way to do that is make sure you eat all the colors. For example a meal of tomatoes, spinach, corn, and potatoes would be red, green, yellow, and white and would give you a good mix of nutrients. Add a piece of meat, fish, or poultry for the protein.

Avoid foods that contain sugar. Avoid excessive fats. Avoid excessive salt. Limit how much caffeine, chocolate, and pepper you eat. Don't drink alcohol to excess. Don't smoke.

The second factor other than food is exercise. Either choose a job that gives you exercise or else devote time after work to it. One of the easiest exercise programs is a daily walk of several miles.

The third factor is attitude. Be relaxed and friendly toward other people and find things that you can be interested in and devote time to.

Many people live to be 100 or more these days. My 81 year old father says if medical gets too much better he will have to make an appointment to die!

I think the thing that most people don't realize it our spirit, what makes us, us, never gets old. It is our body that fails us. As long as we aren't in pain, or loosing our mental facilities, we still feel the same inside. We still feel like “us”

eat right, exercise. Don't smoke anything. Drink alcohol only in moderation (or not at all; jury is still out on that one)
Wear your seat belt while driving. Wear sunscreen. See your doctor when you need to.
It really is that simple, especially if you have good genes and good luck.
