f it's all-powerful then it doesn't need worship, and if it's benevolent then it wouldn't want worship. So, any being that pretends to be a "God" or "god" would either have to be a liar or a tyrant. -

Let me start by saying that I appreciate this question. Also He is God and not an 'it' so please be more reverent than that. He created you to worship Him because He wanted someone to love. He wanted someone to experience His love. He wants us to know that as long as we believe in Him we can have the desires of our hearts. We worship Him because He is the only one that made the ultimate sacrifice and Gave His perfect son for us to be saved from hell. There wouldn't be a hell if Lucifer had not tried to take God's throne. He created us to have dominion over the earth so the devil can't. He has no right to have dominion over anything at all. Yet people give it to him by not getting saved and calling God a liar and a tyrant. My experience in the Lord has been nothing but pleasurable. He has never made me do anything I didn't want to do. And if I do things that cause me to sin it's not His fault and He has never been angry with me. On the contrary it brakes His heart to see His children fall and slip away. That's a Father that's a real true, no THE real true God. If you would just give Him a chance you would see Him for who Ho really is. He doesn't cause the war and the hate, people do, He doesn't cause confusion, people do. But I am not here to defend Him, He doesn't need defending, Time will tell and He will have His way. Hopefully you will be there to see it.

Misperception that "worship" IS required.

The finest "meta"-physical explanations of REALITY, and therefore DEITY as well---are the collective works of the Ancient Egyptian Empire--who were almost an "alien" civilization compared to many that have existed since.

Religion comes from the Latin word "releggio," meaning "to bind, or fasten."

Therefore, independent Spirituality teaches the need to "worship/LOVE" the RIGHT THINGS in life--that which allows one to live in EASE and HARMONY with Life itself.

Religion has been a consorted attempt by Spirit(s), historic personalities, and the #IDEA of "nationhood, statehood, or even Athenian democracy" which is most likely why the Drafters of the United States Constitution made their first amendment---to permanently UN-fasten DOGMA from the life of the everyday person.

To me, a supreme being would be the Egyptian Pa-Neter, and "NTR/Neter" is the ORIGIN of the word "Nature"--etymological study will almost always show MULTIPLE pathways, lines of descent, and sociographic patterns that have dominated the TRANSFER and ASSIMILATION of *HUMAN* culture.

Please continue to pray--just please be MINDFUL of WHO you pray to, and HOW your prayers are offered:

>when you need them
>when you want them
>when it is convenient
>in a Spiritual, or religious, Practice
>daily
>constantly

and what things in Life do you pray about? Consider these things as a gift from a non-human entity that is Supernatural and also is not the Source, but only that messenger service that has been established since the Creation--the Creation(s) that have existed before time began----please read about "The Yoga Aphorisms of Patanjali, in How to Know God," the idea of the Goddess PRAKRITI (Abyss, Abzu, Nun, Matrices), "The Highest Yoga Tantras," and finally "Vedanta"--or "the practice of Self-realization through the SCIENCE of self-inqury.

Worship is a form of fellowship and God desires fellowship with us. Since he is our Creator he is entitled to demand anything from us that he desires. Be thankful that simple worship is all that he requires.

I have often wondered that question myself. It makes me wonder if in the Christian universe, the truth is that God and Satan are reversed; in other words, that the benevolent God is in Hell, and the malevolent one controls Heaven; the malevolent one created Christian Scripture to be the greatest lie the world has ever known...

I don't know that's the truth. But it is a thought.

worry is an evolutionary habit conditioned into clever existence. devoid of worry, animals would not comprehend the drawing close threat of a predator or different aggressive animal. With too plenty worry, animals would not have the potential to quiet down for a suited meal devoid of being spooked via something. So, to respond to your question, worry is an extremely organic, environmentally-conditioned reaction to stimuli.

Worship means to consider & declare oneself lowly & helpless before a thing or a person and to consider & declare it/him as the omnipotent, the saviour, and the protector.

When a person prefers someone else upon the Lord and considers him as the saviour, the omnipotent, the protector, like that of the Lord, then, he virtually adopts the way of Satan, leaving aside the path shown by the Lord, the Holy One. Such a person, practically, seeks help/protection/prosperity from the creature instead of the Creator and thereby stamps himself, by his own hands, as an enemy of the Lord, the Holy One.

To seek help or refuge from a person, other than the Lord, considering him as the Omnipotent-Protector OR to pray or beseech before him, for expulsion of some grief or loss, and extension of some relief or gain___ is all and all___ nothing else but the worship. That is the consolidated verdict of Torah (the Law of Moses), Bhagavad-Gita, the Book of Psalms, the Gospels, the Quran and all the Scriptures. People of all the Scriptures should, therefore, resort to their Scriptures and the Message of Monotheism, contained therein. They must realize, in letter and spirit, that Omnipotent-Protector and the Creator is none, but One, the Holy One, alone. And___ worship is meant for the Creator alone___ not for the creature, the prophets, the gods, the goddesses, the idols or so on.

All-Alone Lord means that there is no God beside the All-Alone Lord. This fundamental lesson has been, altogether, forgotten while everyone knows that none on the earth or in heavens or between the both___ is greater than the Lord, the One God. Instead, every creature is lowly and helpless before the Lord.

Besides that, everyone knows that whatsoever is created___ is created by the Lord, alone. Who is the Omnipotent-Protector. Even then, the masses do not establish the pure and pious worship of the Lord. Nor they act upon the Commandments of the Lord. They do act__ but__ upon their self-assumed, satanic ways. They are the servants of Satan___ not of the Lord.

At present stage of human history, when the continued work of the Godly-guidance stands, already, perfected in terms of the long series of prophets and their Scriptures. And__ the Day of Judgement is also at hand. The masses must review, all and all of that, which is being maintained by them; in the name of faith and belief.

The ignorant must pay heed to the Scriptures and the Message of Monotheism, contained therein. Still there is some time for the Repentive Recourse to reform and recognize the actual purpose of life including the actualisation thereof.

Jesus (PBUH) had given this message in his prayer on the cross (The Psalm 22)

“Praise the Lord, you servants of the Lord
Honour the Lord,
You descendants of Jacob
Worship the Lord, you people of Israel.”
(The Psalm 22:23)

It means that praise is meant for the Lord alone. And___ to honour the Lord means to obey the Lord in terms of the Lord’s Commandments and to worship the Lord means to seek help and refuge from the Lord as the Lord is the Omnipotent-Protector alone. And___ that is the sole purpose of human life.

God is independant, free and Holy and God, the Creator of need has no need. God does not needs our worship, it is we who are the vile, abject and helpless creatures of God who are dependant on God from our next breadth to every blessing in life need God by our side. and through worship we bow and humble ourselves before God and submit to Gods Will. we worship for our own good and for gaining pur Gods pleasure. God is Chaste and Holy and Most Merciful and Kind, who forgives and blesses even the most heinous crimes, except that any other partner should be ascribed unto God. besides Polytheism(ascrbing another partner to God) God will spare other sins. but this sin, is an unpardonable crime which will not be forgiven.
as God has said:

“I__ and I alone___ am God
No other god is real”
(Duet 32:39)

Worship no god but Me!
Do not make for yourselves images of anything
In heaven or on earth or in the water under the earth
Do not bow down to any idol or worship it
For I am the Lord your God and
I tolerate no rivals.
(Duet 5:7 to 9)

Hence, we must believe our God as the Supernatural and Super-physical. God is not perceivable by our senses. Nor___ God is point-able like point-able things. Nor___ the names of God’s created things should be used for God. Nor ___ we should consider God in terms of things and worship God as a thing. Of course___ we should believe God, the same way, as God has commanded us to believe. And___ God’s Commandments 9Duet 32:39 and Duet 5:7 to 9) are very much reasonable and quiet corresponding to our intellect.

I think your question may be misunderstood. I think & let God be God & me be me. The Bible indicates God wants a relationship with us. Worship is only part of that & my guess is our idea of worship may be different than what we traditionaly think of it as. It is respect, love, praise, adoration, an action, serving, etc. If God forced us to worship Him rather than ask us to, would you be happier? Friends, relatives or anyone that expect us to worship them, well we would have a problem with that. But God, we sometimes still have a problem, but do recongnize that He is God & I am not.

Responder TJMiler's answer is apt to the question, but does assume the existence of a deity. However, such an assumption is not supportable by evidence.

God does not need to be worshiped for his/her sake, but for ours. As a reminder to us that there is a Higher Power and that we are not in control.
