I was watching NOVA channel a while back, and it said basically
that the odds of our planet and people being here purely from
evolution, is like comparing your DNA with someone else. That it
is a chance of 1 out of 50 billion. Plus, it's like this : Let's say u
came home to find a cake on your counter ? Who made that
cake ? How did it get there ? Did it get there all by itself ? Like
magic ? NO. Someone had to make it. Someone had to know
the right ingredients. One wrong ingredient, and it's a flop. It won't
be what it is meant to be. So, in Evolution theory, for the odds to
have that cake on that counter, you would have to have way more
to understand just how powerful, Creative Intelligence is. ( GOD )
What are your views ?,,,

Actually, Iv'e seen it 2 x in the past year.
It just stuck with me. It was very very cool.
Sorry, I can't remember everything.....but I
think it was called Evolution vs. Creative
Intelligence. It spoke ALOT about Darwin's
theory, and his book. It was christian based tho, but being objective....not pushy.
The narrator was tall and blonde haired guy
Wish I could tell you more, I wish I could
get a copy of it myself !!! I'll go back to my
notebooks and try to get more info....Peace

Evolutionists NEED evolution to give them hope in nothing. Try to take it way from them and then they will have less than nothing.
If we popped into existance from nothing by a meaningless purposeless mindless process then life itself IS meaningless and purposeless and will eventually die out! (which in itself is meaningless)
Quite right in the philosophy. Ive heard mathematians estimate far more than 50 billion.

There is more than enough evidence to prove evolution. As for an explanation as to where the 1st organism came from....that is not a question for evolution, that is about the origins of life on earth which is a completely different issue with it's own share of theories and speculation. What I fail to understand is how anyone can even begin to compare evolution and CD. While we may not ever know all of the answers and details to evolution it's existance is an indisputable fact. CD on the other hand is nothing more than fairie tales based on myth and superstition with absolutely nothing for support or back up.

About 13 billion years ago God said "Let There Be Light"!
BANG!
There it was. He created all with one fell swoop. Later He also created earth and put man upon it. He, in His infinate wisdom, allowed man to evolve, along with his other creations. Somewhere along the way our religious folk got confused and thought He created man and earth recently, them being readers of the book of directions. The purists, scientists, also wanted to prove He didn't create them and everything else because everything is certainly older than the few thousand years the creationists point to in the Good Book of directions.
Since God created all things, He created the creationists along with the scientists, so I KNOW he don't make mistakes! What I think is we are mistaking His intentions. The Good Book, or Bible as we have come to know it, is a guide showing us directions. I think scientists have a word that kind of sticks in the craw of creationists, and if they would invent a new word to replace it, we would get along a LOT better than we do. That word is theory. We all know a theory is just a possibility of what is or was. Sometimes the scientists confuse theory with fact. Sometimes Creationists blur the facts with theories too. It is still a theory man has been on earth just 6 thousand or so years. Intelligent mankind, from Adam to present day, may just be 6 thousand years. Maybe God formed Adam out of the floatsam, dust, of what was passing for humans back then.
I find no reason to doubt scientists OR creationists. I think they both are confused. God gave me the intelligence to make up my own mind and I have and see no where that says science and religion can't get along.

Your information is completely incorrect. If you compair ANY two peoples DNA you will find it to be virtually identical. Additionally we share about 99% of our genome with chimps. This goes down to about 96% with orangutans, the less and less as we travel farther down the evolutionary tree.
In fact DNA offer better evidence for evolution than anything else. Even if we didn't have a fossil record, which we do. DNA would still overwhelmingly support evolution.
If you are really interested I would recommend reading "The blind watch-maker".
In spite of the"doubt" about evolution in the U.S. 99% of the scientific community world wide supports and accepts evolution. This is not something I have just made up out of whole cloth, I would encourage you to look it up for yourself.
I will also inform you that ALL of the reasons for Intelligent Design, including such things as "Halos" , entropy, and complexity have been thoroughly debunked by scientist years ago.

I come from a Christian family..but I have learned to think for myself. Most so-called christians that I know are afraid to even question whether there is a god. Therefore they have already limited their thinking. Think about this..where you were born has a lot to do with what you believe. Funny how most people in the mid east believe in Allah. America=Jesus China=Buddha etc. Not all but most people will believe in what their parents told them they should believe in. I am an athiest now...I just dont believe in fairy tales. I think more proof lies with evolution. Most christians that I know are not open minded people...they are very narrow minded people who will not accept change or facts.

creation and evolution can go hand in hand aslong as God was guiding the process. the 7 day creation doesn't clearly state how long it was or how long ago it occured. It is simply symbolic. Evolution could have happened admist the 7 "days". Evolution is a TOOL that God used to make life. because science clearly supports evolution. we CAN believe in BOTH>

I would be surprised if that is exactly what Nova said. Do you remember what the title of the program was?
But let's say the numbers are right. 1 in 50 billion.
There are ~ 100 billion stars in our galaxy.
There are billions of other galaxies in the universe.
1 in 50 billion seems like pretty good odds to me. I'd bet the bank on it.

creative intelligence is the same thing as all of religions answers. its an absurd answer, to the questions we cant fully answer. evolution has backing, it has evidence, it has empirical data. that is something religion will never be able to say.
