No, you weren't "wrong" but he may have let it hurt his feelings a bit...perhaps he'd had something he wanted to discuss with you, or just was glad to see you and hoped to share a few moments...

Explain to him why you declined his offer...that it was because you didn't want to inconvenience him and were close to your destination...that it had nothing to do with you not wanting to spend a bit of time with him...

Don't worry about his weird look he probably thought you didn't trust him and being on a marine base he figured you should. You did the right thing if you were already close. forget about it! he'll survive!

Men are fron Mars. Women are from Venus. It don't matter how near you are to your destination, the guy just wants to have your company and was being nice. You thought you were not being a bother, he thought you turned his offer for being nice and thoughtful into the trash can.

Girl maybe that was a good answer. Did you know him? There are alot of weirdos out there. I would have said no too even if I wasn't close yet to my destination.

Not to my way of thinking. Course, he may have had other things on his mind but should have handled it a bit better.

Yes, maybe he wanted to talk to you! I'm sure he thought you were buzzing him off because it sounded like that to me and I don't even know you.
