Now that I think I have my life under control, I'm ready to settle down. Trouble is, since I didn't go dating when I was younger, I don't know where to find myself a wife or even a girlfriend. No one at work or neighbors is available. When I had free time, I visited a singles bar and hated the smoke and loud music. Plus, the women were in large groups, intimidating for one man. How do I know who is available? How do I talk to one without offending her friends? What else can I do besides the nightlife?

In all honesty, I met my hubbie at a bar when he was with his then wife. He was the most amazing man I ever had met. We dated a year before we married! I has looked in all the obvious places when I was ready to settle down again and found nothing, plus I had a list of what I wanted in a man and would not fall short of that list. People say bar romances do not work but I did marry him 13 years ago and we have been happy ever since. I know you may feel intimidated by a group of women together, but there are women at the clubs we go to, all alone and I do feel so sad for them. Otherwise I have has friends use the on line dating services. They have had good and bad luck with it. None of my friends have ever married any of them but there have been some nice people. I did have a friend who did the personals in the paper, she did real well. I hope this helps and I hope you find the one true love you are looking for. My story is to help you see, bars are not that bad.

Love comes in mysterious ways. Get involved in your community, volunteer your time at different places. I see you don't like the bar scene so those are the best suggestions. Keep your options opened and be open minded. Oh I just remembered see if in your city or town if they have like a singles club you could join. Like in my city there is and these singles go out all together on activites like once a week or maybe even more. You do have to pay to join the club though. They want to make sure that you are serious. Look into that you might like it.

Just know that there are plenty of women in the same boat. Not that it's worked for me, but I've always heard that you should hang out in places that you have an interest in, and maybe there is someone there who shares your interest. You have a better chance if you live in a larger town. My town is so small I know about everyone around here that is available. It seems all the good ones are taken, and the rest are not worth having.

Be confident. What is the worst thing that she will say, No!. Oh well, move on to the next one. Stay away from the singles bars, and start going looking in normal circumstances. If you see a girl at lunch, buy it for her. do not expect anything in return, and she will approach you. Be sure that you are within your limits. that means do not go for the hottest chicks you see, look beyond that and be real.

Try joining a club that has some of your interests that you think girls who like too. That way, you would know a girl with the same interests as you and you would have somehting to talk about. If you don't want to offended her friends, just try to say nice things. :)

Church is a nice place to find someone to settle down with. If you're looking you're not likely to find her. You never know you could meet your future wife in the produce section of your local grocery store. You'll find her. Rather... you will find each other. Good luck to you and God bless!

Have you ever heard of the phrase "one door closes,another will open"? Well if you haven't you have now. Love isn't something you force,it will come to you when you least think it will happen. There will be somebody out there that doesn't like the club scene also,so just relax and let things work out themselves.

Just do what you enjoy, and you will find a woman with similar interests. Go to the Library, Church, shopping, the park, anything you enjoy doing, and that is where you will meet your best matches. Good Luck to you
