One of the questions I studied back in my Christian days was the question of what happens to suicides.

I found that there was no biblical basis for saying suicide is an unforgivable sin. So you can draw your own conclusions.

If they didn't have Jesus in their lives, unfortunately yes.

But for the act alone, no, it's not suicide. When you're in an inferno and it's the fault of someone else's actions, that's murder, not suicide.

I hope they found peace before beginning their next step on the journey to Nivanna. So they are either have been or are waiting to be reborn or they on the next spiritual plane(level).

No, they were poor desperate humans that did not know what else to do. God would not hold their desperation against them.
