Travelling by car, west down Old Wareham Rd, Poole in Dorset, England; at sunset, in winter. You have Poole Bay, Hamworthy peninsula, more Poole Bay and beyond those the Purbeck Hills, a series of three mis-matched ridges one behind the other. Together with sunsets that could put a desert-sunscape to shame, all on an amazingly human scale - fantastic! Only visible while travelling down a hundred yard stretch of the gentle slope: briefly glimpsed, always different, never forgotten.

The train journey through the North East of England has some pretty great man made views. Cathedrals in York and Durham; the angel of the north and the view down the river in Newcastle/Gateshead with all the bridges especially the new millenium bridge and the Sage concert hall on the bank next to it.

I like the realto tower Melbourne. The base is a combination of 2 of the oldest buildings in melbourne (Australia) combined into one building and connected to the largest skyscraper in the city. Beautiful walking in the hotel and seeing the old hotels exterior in the interior.

Driving down Penylan hill- stopped at the traffic lights you see the whole of Cardiff- the curve of the bay on the left and the lovely mix of old and new buildings on the right. Best viewed at about % o'clock in the evening after a long hard day's work!

I like Chicago's for the sheer beauty and I like St. Louis' for it's architecture.

BTW amazingone, the Sears Tower isn't the tallest in the world anymore. The Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur and Taipei 101 in Taipei are all taller than the Sears Tower.
