OK... if you're stomach sticks out more than your chest, you don't need to show your tummy. You can wear a tank if your arms aren't flabby on the triceps. Otherwise just wait until you feel comfortable. If your thighs rub together, don't wear shorts that come up to the point where the thighs touch. Tone and firm up any areas that have cellulite or stretch marks, and try to wear some type of lotion where your skin is exposed before hittin the beach. But the women with the best bodies - they probably spend more time exercising than they do showing off so you can use that to measure your time spent working out.

To get over shyness:
1. Build your self confidence (sports, martial arts, and group activity can help you)
2. Be able to accept the possible rejections that will inevitably happen (thats why people are shy is the fear of rejection)
3. Everyday introduce yourself to a new person at work or school etc.. a safe setting that you feel safer in.
Eventually you will get over your shyness if you truly want to do so, the hardest part is accepting the possible rejections that will happen. (Hey I won't lie, we have all been rejected.) It takes perserverance and courage, but youc an do it if you have faith in yourself.
As far as clothes, dress to be comfortable, dont try to be anything you are not.
I wish you the best in getting over your shyness...
I give you two quotes in hopes they help you
Rule 1. Don't Sweat the small stuff
Rule 2. Its all small stuff
And of course
"Victory belongs to the most perservering."

Your problem is not shyness but one of low self esteem.
Buy a tape/CD/book named Spontaneous optimism by Dr. Michael Mercer and Dr. Maryann Troiani.
I had the same problem, now I have high self esteem. In fact I could care less what other people think of me. My shyness went away, when I developed my high esteem.

Yea get into an sport, and you WILL make alot of friends. Try walking up to ppl sayin "whats up" or something. This generation ppl just look at your looks not your personaility, try to wear top brand name clothes, and you will make alot of friends, and also the shyness will be gone.

You just have to take chances. The more you take the more comfortable you will be with yourself. Whatever you do don't turn to drugs. This is a temperary fix and will ruin your life. Just be yourself. Play a sport.

You have to push yourself to just jump in a conversation. I use to be the same way but the more you talk to people and force yourself to just jump in the easier it gets. Good luck!
