Liquid starch is added in the wash water to add body and stiffness to garments. It was commonly added in the rinse water and still is at the dry cleaners when you order your shirts to be starched. You can also dip garments in it or use it in a spray bottle when ironing. Straight starch will almost make the garments stand by themselves, but if you mix it with water in a spray bottle you can get the crispness level you desire. Usually there is a chart on the back of the bottle that will indicate the dilution rate according to the finish you desire, You also can purchase starch by Magic in an aerosol application, with a light, medium and heavy solution.

No it is not in snuggle because that is a fabric softener which does exactly the opposite, relaxes the fibers of the garment to soften them against your skin. BoPeep, StaFlow, Magic Starch are some of the old brands, but you can still find it in drug stores and off brand hardware stores. Liquid starch is also used in interior design to temporarily adhere fabric to the walls for people who are unable to paint or wallpaper.

whatever you are going to use it for, the ingredients are the same. corn starch in the box or plain flour, either of the two and water and shaken till to the consistency you want, or the same as the liquid you usually use. these concoctions are both good for cooking, using as a thickner for soups and stews, and as a starch to iron your clothes with. as for using it for starching your clothes i suggest you pour it into a spray bottle first and then you can add more water if needed as you iron your clothes. you will problably have to experiment a bit till you get it to the right crispness, rather lightly or med. or heavy starched.

I use some mashed potatos in the oil drippings from meat to make a great gravy. They are heavy in starch.

look on the package of corn starch. you can cook it up and make your own liquid starch.

Make it a little stronger that you think you might need, and add water to thin it.
