Yes. Some illnesses are transferred through the saliva. For an example, take rabies. It can be transferred through the skin or a wound through saliva or blood. You probably won't be able to tell if they have an illness, because sometimes their symptoms are so much different than ours. Another way to look at it is to see that hamsters can catch the common cold from people.

I think that is it because i went to my brother's house for a day with my puppy and his two kids were sick with flu and after a few days she started having flu-like symptoms and then all the other dogs that are in this house has had them. So i think that they can but i am not 100% sure of it though.

hey,most but not all diseases are species specific. the most common are some varieties of worms and rabies but things like heart worm is only a dog thing and FIV (feline immune virus) is a cat thing.call your vet to be sure of certain illnesses

YES! My dog got the flu! He was acting all sick so we took him to the vet! He had caught it from me!!!!

almost imposible... their inmune sisteme is really strong..
a virus needs to evolve so it can attact another specie...
