stem cell research?

Since they have found a new way to get stem cells with out actually using an embryo or cord blood, why shouldn't scientists be allowed to do research with them now?

Let's face it, there are some people who would exploit to make money, no matter whom it hurt. Restraint is important here, as is the actual research. Good things come in moderate and with great care. I think we should be researching alternative to alot of things, medical science is just one. How about an alternative to gasoline? No one wants to go there because they haven't figured out a way to make as much money on that as they do on gas.

Scientists have always been allowed to do research on stem sells from any source. What you may be thinking about is that the government has not been "funding" research on stem cells taken from human embryos or babies killed while they are still in the womb.

The government does fund research using stem cells from cord blood and from adults. There has been private funding for research on stem cells from human embryos and babies killed while they are still in the womb.

The only successful use of stem cells to improve human health problems have been with stem cells taken from adults.

Science has always been able to do stem cell research, just without government funding. Our government feels religion trumps science.
I'm already hearing that religious groups are protesting the latest development.
