Does she have a goal for her life? If you can, get her to see how an education is directly connected to succeeding in this goal. If she doesn't have one, take her to a guidance ccounsellor and help her get a focus. Good luck.

Sounds harsh but maybe its time to spend the entire day at a big city skid-row near you.

Show her what not having an education can do. And I mean the whole day...With NO money. She gets hungry? Then she scrounges or stays hungry. She has to use the bathroom? She finds an alley. She throws a fit? GREAT, it's working!!!!

She still doesn't want to get with the program? Then she spends the night there.

All supervised of course but at a distance...Make her feel what its like to be alone in this big mean world. Chances are she'll get the picture. Tell her that if she is not registered full time in college when she's 18, she's out of the house no matter what and that may be her fate if she doesnt get with the program.

You got 2 years left, make an impression and don't be a push over. Take control, its going to suck for you to be there also but I'm sure she's worth it.

Best of luck.

You can't! But you can find her the world's crappiest job and have her work at it, showing her that this is what will be available to her if she does not get her act together.

Trust me on this. I did it with my son, his senior year in high school, he cut 16 days in the first 5 weeks, then he got suspended for 8 more days, and then got mono. That was the 1st quarter. He proceeded to flunk out of required classes, lucky they were one semester ones, so he could take then again the next semester.

In May, he was failing 1/2 of the classes he needed to graduate.

I had a helping hand. He joined the Navy, he need that his dead end jobs were all he could get without more education, so enlisted. I called his recruiter and the man went to the school and tore him another orifice.

He did graduate and now the Navy had turned him into a fine young man. But it was his decision and a lot of tough love.

BTW- I also made him do volunteer work at a soup kitchen.

Some trouble???? Is it an anger thing? Drugs? Firstly let's try to concentrate on what caused the trouble at school...is there an underlying problem at home? If she is a good girl maybe she just feels more comfortable learning at her own pace by herself perhaps she is not caught up in all the "games played at school"
some people are above them!! I went through the same phase.
Be patient, show her that she is loved and be there for her......
Give her the benefit of the doubt.....Best of luck! She may know what she is doing????????

You can't! It's up to her to find her own interests. It may take time or more alternatives but only she can make herself interested. Some young adults do not have any interest in school period, not much you or anyone can do, she has to find her own motivation. You can only provide ideas and opportunities.
