Kinsey is sometimes Kinneycat.
Slyvie is sometimes SylvieWylvie.
Amber is The Amber Child
Mincho is Fluffy Butt. He is fluffy there and has a cute little wiggle when he walks.
Cameo is Cameo because she is so regal in her manner and you wouldn't dare call the queen of England "Libby", would you?

Isn't it crazy that we pet lovers have such a wide variety of nicknames for our pets? I have 2 cats. Gypsy is a female calico (American Domestic Shorthair). I often call her Gyps, Gypsy Bear, Miss Gypsy, Mrs. Claws (she has very sharp claws), and Jingle Gyps (for the bell under her rabies tag). Moky is a male of unknown origin (a mutt cat but well loved just the same). I call him Moke, Moky Butt, Mr. Moky, Moky Bear, and autistic (the last one is not really a name; it's more a behavior because he does odd things - even for a cat). When he irritates me, I utter an expletive (reminding me of a Bill Cosby line about when he's calling his children). The compound word yelled out usually deters the bad behavior.

When we got our rescue lurcher she was called Fly, which is a popular name for racing dogs. However, as anyone who's had one knows, a dog that has a bit of greyhound in them are the laziest beings in the world. Now we call her Flo. It's much more fitting.
I have recently aquired a cat who's real owners named himTJ. I call him "That ginger bastard" but I still love him dearly.

You know I think we all give out pet nicknames. I think the reason for this is that when you name then you don't really know then and as time goes by you find something that really suits their personality. My dog name was Toby but we called him billbobaggings Bill for short.

Mine is Maymuna - the Bulgarian word for monkey. A funny form (mamuna) comes from mamino kote (mommy's kitty); another reason is his habit of playing with balls and toy mice with both paws - really looks like a small monkey, depending on the position of his tail...

My son started calling our cat Tinkerbell "Tinky Dinky Doo" after he started watching the Noggin cartoon "Pinky Dinky Doo." So now she's Tinky Doo or Tinky for the most part.
