Everybody's hair is different as to type of hair coloring product that is something that you may have to try out to find what works for you best. If you are not covering grey or white hair you may want to consider just doing highlights as they can grow out without major roots showing up such that are more difficult root retouch will not be necessary later on and we have all seen the drastic root showing up from someone with a major hair color change from the original how obvious that can be and unnatural looking that can be. You can do frosting bleach highlights, color highlights, paint ons etc. Also if you want to try some interesting things you can try the spray on colors that give you an instant change but may come off on your clothing a little bit it is great stuff I use to do gold and silver when I was younger and recieved many compliments as it gives when applied lightly all over the brushed through a lifting look to your natural color, temporary colors that can be bought at hair product places sometimes at regular discount stores or drug stores can give you a temporary change that if you do not like can be washed out but if you use it regularily it may cause a build up on the hair also if it is a very drastic change of color from your original the color may not turn out exactly as you expected such that you can add to it or wash it out. Your description is not good enough to make any selections based upon that. I have found as a young person it is trial and error but something too far removed from your natural color often is not flattering and looks very unnatural. The real objective in good supplemental hair coloration is to enhance your looks not to destroy them such that you look more presentable and attractive. As I was a natural Auburn as a young girl I can do darker red browns to lighter strawberry blondes and look decent with them. I am not young anymore and tend to work in the sun so I want my whiter side burn area hair to blend in with my other hair so occassionally I do some color in this color range. I have found the lighter shades work better in summer and darker work better for me in the winter months.

when coloring ur hair its best to stay within 2-3 shades of ur natural color. but if u want that change then id go for something sexy and eye catching but not in a bad way. if u have light skin tho... try to stay away from that white blonde hair... cause that makes u look washed out. best look for that... try the daramel highlights. consists of brown red brassy tones blonde... so it looks like a caramel color. its gorgeous.

Do what I did.
I have naturally brown hair. I had my hair dresser give me black and red highlights. And I have two blond streaks near my face.
Basically I have: black, brown, red and blond in my hair!!

Now....redish purplish is in for some reason but dark brown with hazel highlights is hanging in there and it would look great with your skin tone

I think you should stick to your natural color, maybe a few highlights, but it sucks when ur roots grow out!
