Sometimes I just can't stay awake. In class I have nodded off, and yesterday I nodded off in the middle of my boss teaching me something at work. I'll feel my eyes get heavy and I'll try to pay attention, but its like I can;t and all of a sudden I just turn off and fall asleep. I'll even sort of start dreaming a little. Does anyone else have this problem? I sort of wonder if its ADD or something since it always happens when I am trying to focus on something. I don't fall asleep if I am working on something, only if I am watching someone else doing something. And I am interested in learning. Plus I'm sleeping normal amounts, like 6-8 hours a night. And it's very intense drowsiness, like I can't keep my eyes open. I'm literally fighting to stay awake. It's embarassing!!!

This ADD crap is just that. That area of diagnosing is the biggest joke that's ever been put over on the American public, and I've been a mental health practitioner for 20+ years, now retired, and was in business when that diagnosis first came around. You're simply needing a coke or coffee or chewing gum or something to stay awake at times when you're bored and want to doze off, so, bring you a cup of coffee or some coke or other caffein drink, or chewing gum, and don't get hypochondriacal. God Bless you.

I know how you feel. I have small children at home and if I sit to long I'm out. I use molasses and warm water as a drink. The more I take the less tired I am.

How are you feeling otherwise? any depression or stress (your drowsiness may be symptoms).

it doesn't sound much like ADD, but it does sound serious. you should definitely go see a dr.

good luck. hope it gets better real soon. :)
