you could do bells. I hope you find a solution, but it's a popular tradition and that person who clinks the glasses every 2 min will probably still do so.

There are a variety of options:

1. Sing something with the word "love" in it
2. Large sized dice (one or two) with some blank sides and some with lips on them. When the lips are rolled, the couple has to kiss.
3. For every dollar a guest puts in a jar, the couple kisses for 10 seconds. The money can go to a favourite charity or to your honeymoon fund or whatever you choose.
4. The MC or DJ has a list of questions about the couple. Every time a guest answers a question correctly, the couple kisses.

Here is a link to a listing of a lot of different wedding games. Some of them will also work for centrepiece games if you are making your own and planning to give them away at the end of the evening.

Clinking Of Glasses

I just found an item called a kissing wand. It has two little bells attached to ring when a guest wants a kiss. Also there are little silver bells that you can put on each table for guests to ring instead of clinking their glasses.

We catered our wedding ourself, so we were able to get the nicely cut clear plastic water & wine glasses that looked like crystal. No clinking at all :)

You could do a "dollar dance" where guests donate cash to dance with the bride. I've heard of this being done, but I'm not sure how the logistics work out.

I was at a wedding where the guests would approach the podium & tell a story about the time when they first met either the bride or groom. Most stories were light-hearted and funny, and a few were kind of boring. I think you'd really have to have faith in your guests to not say anything 'over the line' or you'd have to have a nonchallant point of view about the whole thing. Come what may right?

Some people use little bells, but they don't ring very well and that same annoying guests will ring the bells just as much as they'll clink the glasses.

Singing a song with the word "Love" in it, Banging on tables, Clinking glasses, Waving candles, Small lights at tables that can be flickered, DJ playing a certain song, there are hundreds of ideas. I would say you should ask your DJ. They do it all the time and they talk to other DJs also, so they should have a lot more ideas than the rest of us.

I heard the best most creative but not entirely new idea the first one is set a tiny bell with a little poem that says in order for us to kiss we have just one request please ring this bell if you are in love,or something like that cute and cheap just check ebay or someone has to get up and sing karoake on a mike from the song list of songs you chose.

Have a list of questions ready about you and your new husband and the person who starts the clinking of the glasses has to answer the question correctly before the couple will kiss.Make them as hard or as easy as you want (depending on how much this tradition amuses or embarrasses you :)
