I'm sure you've been told by your prescribing doctor that drinking beer with Xanax is NOT okay, and the label that you have been provided on your prescription bottle says the same thing, so I wonder why you had to get on here and ask your question. God Bless you.

Yes it is probably a symptom of withdrawals. Take a couple of xanax and see if you can breathe better. Anxiety can cause it difficult to breathe. I doubt it has anything to do with the alcohol. Don't taper yourself off unless you are under the guidance of a doctor. Stopping xanax can have terrible side effects the worst being death; however, if your doctor switches you to Klonopin you will not have any withdrawals and Klonopin is much easier to taper down the dose. See a doctor. Good Luck.

Yes, especially if you have been taking it for a long time, or a long time at high doses. Benzodiazepines are some of the most addictive drugs known to man, but they work so well that mental health professionals consider the upside worth that downside. I take xanax myself .5mg X4 a day.
It is most unwise to mix xanax with alcohol. It can be a deadly combination. You should not try to 'self-medicate' with alcohol or any other type of drug to try and compensate for lack of xanax. All medical literature reccommends a GRADUAL reduction over time. If you drink in moderation ( no more than 2 drinks) you can usually get away with it while taking xanax, but it's a russian roulette kind of thing. Hope this helps.

yes, xanax is a benzodiazapine and slows down the central nevous system which controls your breathing, alcohol also does this. I would not combine the two,it can be dangerous
