But when california lower the speed limit to 55. And made everyone wear a seat belt. Thousands of lives were saved.
why would it make a difference if it wasn't your time to die?
I mean what difference would it make if you smoked, drank or even took drugs. If you weren't going to die until a specific time.

It doesn't make any difference. You die when it is your time. My daughter, is only one example of this fact. I was in my daughter's school to pick her up. She was a 6 year old, 1st grader. It certainly wasn't her time to die. She had decided to leave the office in the school, no one said anything. And she went across the street to the store to buy some candy while she waited for me. On her way back across the two laned traffic, one car waved her across, and the other car hit her dead in the stomach, she flew threw the air by all accounts, and her shoe was knocked off. Aside from her gums bleeding, she didn't have a scratch on her! Not one bruise! We went to the hospital in the ambulance, and after an overnight stay, we went home the next day. Anybody else in that same wrong place, at the same wrong time, getting hit by an old metal car, (not one of those fiber glass new ones), would have been killed instantly. She is now in 7th grade, hasn't been to the hospital since, and scored in the 99th percentile in Reading in the state of Illinois.
This is just one example. There are many more. You don't leave this earth, until you have completed the job you were put here to do.
In reference to the children that do die, maybe their job was just to make one person smile for awhile, and that may have saved another's life to do something even more important.

Since God notice that we found a solution to help our neighbor, saving lives, He wouldn't use that to take lives, although sometimes it don't matter if you wear a seat belt, or a helmet, it was your time. So then God seeks out our other weaknesses for it's, your times up. So your saved by the seat belt, now you can die from a bomb, plane crash, hit by a car walking across the street, war.... so many ways to move numbers around.

The Bible says, "your eyes saw my unformed body, All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:16

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die" Ecclesiastes 3:1-2

That is why every suicide attempt isn't successful or why people survive horrific accidents. We call it a miracle but it is all God's plan.

From what I've seen so far, this question is a little to deep for most, even me. Religion notwithstanding, if a person's time to die would have been made shorter without the laws, then the laws were made to meet those people's time to die.

Personally, you die when you die. But I felt that it was a good question.

I think the reason they say that is like when you are diagnosed with terminal cancer and they say you have only this much time left to live. Well if you do things that are bad for your health then you will die at a sooner time then if you hadn't. I don't know if you are religious but also God watches over us and if he sees and knows that a certain person is destroying their health then he may set their time to die sooner then if they lived happy. I hope this answers your question.

I think you are being overly literal. I don't think people who talk about their time to die mean that they will live exactly so many seconds no matter what. Take Jim Fixx. He basically created the modern interest in jogging. He started to jog because his own father had died of a heart attack. Yet Jim Fixx died at a younger chronological age than his Dad. Apparently the Fixx family had some bad genes.

Smoking, drinking and taken drugs will send you to ur grave maybe a little quicker than usual but seat belt is not necessarily a safety net because I had a cousin killed while wearing one. When you number is up then it's just up! Tomorrow is not promise to you.

God knew that the speed limit would be changed. God knew that you would do drugs. Your time to die is dependent upon how you act. God just knows when you will die.
