How do you know that a Christian reverend that answers the phone with "praise the Lord" is an idiot? Maybe he is really happy in the Lord. I fear that the devil has put a veil of confusion and unbelief over your eyes.

How can a simple greeting be "shoving a worthless myth?" What confuses me is why someone like you, with your obvious disdain for all things religious, would be calling a reverend! ...and you've called ALL of them, too (or are you generalizing again as you atheists/agnostics often do)?
...and Baby Dona personally knows that most of us are fanatics! It amazes me how magically knowledgeable some of you are about a majority of the human race!

They believe in the Lord whole heartily. They are showing their love for the Lord by praising His name. The are not doing it for your benefit or theirs. Their "worthless myths" as you called them are the beliefs of millions of people all over the world. It is a faith based belief that is supported by the passion and presence of the Lord felt by most Christians.

That's mean. They're not idiots or losers for believing any more than you are for not.
Also, if it helps them keep the right frame of mind whenever they speak to someone who has a foul attitude, then why not?
Besides, it's a greeting or one of those phrases people sometimes just say, like "Bless you" when someone sneezes.
Wow, why call someone you don't respect at all?

I do not subscribe to any religious ideas. That being said, read:
I take a strong exception to your question. You have no right to call anyone an idiot. Second, you are insulting a whole host of people who believe in their religion. Third, you are showing your ignorance - regardless of which religious persuation you belong to.

my gramma used to answer the phone like that. when i was 16 we lost contact for 'bout ten yrs. i was searching 4 her the whole time. finally i uesed the internet to run her name.( 5 diff ppl had her name. after 4 calls someone answered the phone saying
praise the lord.
