Try this - put a piece of celery in the water when you cook it. Pour lemon over it when you prepare it for work.

Go broccoli!!! But it can smell unpleasant while it's being cooked. One other reader suggested eating it raw, which is probably even better for you, but it's a little too crunchy for me. Try this: At home, bring a big pot of salted water to a boil, add your broccoli, and cook it for no more than 2 minutes...maybe less! It should not be crisp, but it shouldn't be limp either--use a fork to test. Drain it in a sieve and IMMEDIATELY plunge it into ice water. It will stop the cooking and also keep it nice and green. Leave it for 5 minutes, then drain and pat dry with a towel. Drizzle with a little good olive oil, then spritz with a lemon wedge, season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle on some quality Parmesan. This is just as good cold the next day as it is at dinner. Buon appetito.

Cooked broccoli DOES smell BAD! yuck... I do not blame them! The smell factor is important in the workplace environment, for example, a hospital I used to work for completely banned microwave popcorn on patient floors because the strong smell could be so seriously offensive to ill people.
Fresh, raw broccoli doesn't smell at all and its probably MORE healthy! Leave the cooking of strong-smelling vegetables AT HOME! We all thank you!!

No it doesn't smell bad. They just don't like brocoli. Don't worry about fuzzy farts like them. Some people just complain about everything. They have nothing to say so they just keeping complaining so they will have said something...all meaningless. prattle.
Keep cooking and enjoy it.

what about raw broccoli? I love it and think it's better than it being cooked - plus, no odor from heating it up.
