Could be a long of explanations for this. For example, the Mormons believe that a lost tribe of Israel migrated to what is now the American continents.

If you believe John 10:16 that Jesus had "other sheep not of this fold", then this idea is not so far fetched. Why would God limit his blessings, the commandments and the sacrament to only those in the Eastern Continent? Why would Christ, who is the savior of all mankind not visit all of his people and establish his Gospel to others?

As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons) we believe that Christ came to the Americas and taught the people here. We believe that he established his Church among these people like he did in the old world. You can read about this in the Book of Mormon.

You could use the Bible to explain prophecy in Jesus' life, and claim that the pagan "savior-cults" took their elements from Old Testament "prophecies", but there's no way any Christian can get around the sacraments being used before Christianity. The sacraments weren't part of prophecy.

You read correctly. If you read the Book of Mormon you will learn that Jesus Christ is the center of this scripture and that He had ordained apostles and prophets while establishing His Gospel among the ancients of the American hemisphere.

In this scripture you will read about the sacrament, baptism, the error of infant baptism, and other ordinances lost from the Bible.

To say that Christianity was confined to the other side of the world is ludricous because Christ himself said, "Other sheep have I in the fold" (paraphrased). He was referring to those peoples throughout the world and not just in Jerusalem.

John 3:16 does not say, "For God so loved Jerusalem . . . "

Well, if I were Mormon, I'd say it is because Jesus came here before His Ascension. But, I'm NOT a Mormon !

There were many Rites in ancient America that seem similar to the Christian Sacraments, but when investigated, they were quite different.

C.S. Lewis argued that just as aspects of Jewish culture prefigured the coming of Jesus, so too do parallels in pagan cultures prefigure Christ's coming.

Yep, God loves people enough to teach His gospel all over the world. I'd love to see the reference you got that from BTW.

Best wishes.
