Sounds like a territorial thing...For some reason that room is HERS lol...only thing i would suggest is get down on the floor with her when she feels threatend and try and pet and sooth her when she gets excited about the dog in there too...make sure ur dog knows its ok as well..if that doesn't work ya might wanna check with a vet see if they have any suggestions

I don't think it's a territory thing.
I'll bet your kitten is probably just feeling cornered,
Maybe there are no ways to get away from the dog in your room
like there are in other parts of the house.
She is just warning the dog.
When she learns the dog won't hurt her, she will probably quit.
But it is good that she is cautious of the dog.
Kittens that have NO FEAR of dogs,
sometimes end up Dog Chow.
I have 2 cats & 2 pit bulls - they get along fine.

kitten just wants one room in the house where she can be by herself without the doggie. I know I have 6 cats and 2 dogs...the back two bedrooms are off limits to the dogs...purrrr the cat's rules....LOL...

She has claimed it as hers. Though also, she may feel cornered in that room. Does she have a way to leave if she wants to?

She has claimed that room as her territory. That's why she hisses at the dog, he is invading her territory.

That seems strange. Maybe she just wants that place for her very own so she wants to drive the dog out.
