Why can't everyone just get along? I've read a ton of questions, and I've seen five that are really sick and mean, and a bunch more that were just making fun of others religion. Why is it so hard for people to accept others?

Lack of understanding.
We forget that, behind the labels and differences, "the others" are also human beings too, with the same basic feelings, dreams and hopes that we have.

Becuase people are generally intolerant of other people because they dont understand each other or disagree on some menial thing, and some people are so simple minded that they think different is wrong, so they dont get along. Plus, most people are closed minded so they think only thier veiw of the world is correct, and refuse to accept anyone elses

It's really such a pity that some people can be so nasty to others. If only we could all get along, the world would be a beautiful place.I think love is the most beautiful,wonderful thing!

Because we dwell in the world of Adam's exile. This is where mankind fell to when he fell. We reside in the "underworld," the world beneath the world "above." This is a world ruled by a spirit that instigates anger, hatred, terrorism, war, and cruelty. It is a world full of demented people. And it's not yet as bad as it's going to be.

There is no love in this world believe it.
Heck a Moderator of a forum threatened me that he will put me in Jail, and he even hacked me.
All I said to him before he made legal threats was "He had no right" because he had no right to treat me bad in the forums just because I want freedom of speech.
There is no love in the forums. Lousy moderators.

Because people these days are sad. Maybe they can't except themselves, and in turn they can't except others. Or maybe they want everyone to be just like them. I don't know, but people bug me for reasons like that.

Amen. This world (and this site) would be a much better place if we all learned to accept each other for who we are, instead of judging each other for what we believe. Love all mankind.

It is idealistic for you to think that people naturally want to get along. We don't. People are warring creatures, prone to violence. Our animalistic urges are controlled by society, it is it's purpose. I wish that people all really did want peace, but humans just aren't programed like that.

Acceptance can be misinterpreted as condoning. If people don't condone other people's actions then they don't want to simply accept them either.
